I had Dr Pepper for the first time in a while recently - it’s not as bad as a I remember it was (although I think the one you get at Woolies is the UK version)

toilet paper advice is probably all Yahoo Finance is good for?

As reported by The Courier-Mail yesterday and discussed on Studio 10 this morning, Brisbane Airport security has been confiscating tubes of Vegemite through checkpoints.

“People are forgetting a tube of vegemite is actually a gel,” Brisbane Airport head of public affairs Stephen Beckett said.

“If your tube is over 100ml or 100 grams, then it gets taken from you.”

But Choice got it right. Quilton toilet is the best, by far.

i lived in small town canada. we didn’t even have a mcdonalds, but we had an A&W. it brings back so many memories for me

My family has been using Quilton toilet paper for the past few years.

Quilton is quite popular among Asian communities here in Australia.

Just the Asians? I’m pretty sure I’ve read that it’s the most popular brand across Australia regardless of race.

Viva Energy to buy OTR (subject to approval)

ABC article on the proposed Viva (Shell and Liberty) acquisition of OTR. The OTR owners will still keep a stake in the combined business if it proceeds.

So I would guess Viva is acquiring a ‘retail brand/name’ to replace Coles if their acquisition of OTR gets the all-clear by ACCC.

Mr Shahin described the deal as more a “merger than a sale”, and said that, if it is approved, the Shahin family would be one of the biggest shareholders in Viva and that he would stay on to help run it.

So will they get the $1B in cash or in stock or both?

$1B seems pretty cheap when you compare it to the $3B in annual revenue.

According to this, $1 billion in cash and $150m in shares.

The OTR acronym is a very bland brand name.

This makes a lot of sense considering where Viva is at with the pending removal of Coles Express branding, can’t see ACCC blocking this either. Will be interesting to see how all of this comes together, as new OTR builds are quite bespoke and I just can’t see them investing that much money in anything more than a new sign and a paint job in the existing Coles Express sites.

I would think that any Shell Coles Express rebrands to ‘Shell OTR’ is just a lick of paint (to OTR colours) and signage replacement on the inside and on the exterior of the of existing Coles Express buildings. Similar to the Caltex Star Mart/Shop to Ampol Foodary rebranding on the vast majority of company owned sites.

There’s quite a few here in Melbourne that would benefit greatly from a refresh, they are looking old and tired.
