Big Brother

Pretty sure the EP went to do Love Island not BB.

That’s because all three had the same producer in charge, Alex Mavroidakis.

Alex is doing live island who produced 2012-2014 he also does I’m a Celeb as well. (He works for ITV)

A new female EP (can’t remember her name) is linked as Executive producer for the 2020 series

If it is the person that I think you mean, she has previously worked as a tasks producer for at least one season of ten’s BBAU. Her name is Amelia Fisk.

Edit: A round-up of some of the speculation including this potential EP has been published on BehindBB:

I know; that was my point…

I think in Series 3 or 4of BBAU they actually started with an unfinished hosue that the housemates had to finish.

Nope that was season 2

Did the season on 9 not rate well because all the contestants were either actors or models?

Having regular people in there doesn’t rate anymore.

It will be like MKR bitchiness on Big Brother .

The last season on Nine did not rate because they moved it to 8:30, shoved in twist after twist to try to improve the ratings , had very inconsistent scheduling and no live component apart from the evictions. They also made it way too family friendly. They did everything possible to make sure Big Brother had no chance of getting good ratings.

I think it also stopped rating well because they did the same things every season. That fish!!! It was in there every season.

9 turned it into a soap opera. They were patching together clips from multiple days to make a storyline instead of focusing on the last 24 hours.

Yeah that was the worst bit that you didn’t necessarily see the days worth of content. You could tell certain things were snipped of other days.

They have to go one of two ways with this version. If they go the US style season (more strategic game, head of households etc) 3 nights a week would be sufficient. However if it’s the old format it needs to be more like the UK route where it’s on every night (even weekends) and each episodes content is from the previous day in the house. Airing it later night in that case would be better too so it’s not too watered down to be family friendly.

No reason why they can’t do a 30min family friendly edit and a later night MA cut.

I do agree tho that they need to let the story lines form more than push them ala Ch9

I agree, I think for it to be both financially viable it needs to find both a regualr PG & MA Audience.

The later shows create better content and show a 360 view of housemates personas, but the family friendly viewing is generally what gets the bigger ā€œeventā€ numbers (Masked Singer, Ninja Warrior, Lego Masters etc) unless you look at MAFS. I am really intruged to how the cast this, including the social media side of things.

I hope they can get it right, with a stirpped format similar to 10, with a later panel based discussion type program for the MA content.

Considering they are only planning 20 episodes I would be surprised if they do this.

Nothing has been confirmed yet. We don’t even have a confirmed network, let alone season start date or season duration.

I highly doubt that if they are doing a normal civilian version that there would only be 20 episodes. Even BB US which airs 3 times a week has more episodes than that per season. And I don’t think all of the rumours we are hearing will turn out to be true.

Also Big Brother’s cost goes down the more episodes it has which is again why I am doubtful of the 20 episode count unless they are doing a celebrity version first and then a normal civilian version later in the year.

This would make sense IMO…
