Big Brother

Movie World might be an option.

The Australian version? No.

I feel like Dreamworld might be interested in some good PR after the past few years so might be willing to lure Big Brother back?

Just get masterton homes to sponsor it by building the house

No i said in Europe. It was Germany. Lasted a year

To have good and reliable crew work over Xmas/New Years would make it super expensive, that offset by there being far less viewers. Why would they want to almost guarantee the show losing momentum at that mid to 3/4 point of the season? It is a move that would make close to no sense.

I’m all for networks scheduling over the entire summer but in reality that week or so before and after Christmas people are just too busy, out of routine and/or are on holidays. Any other show that could take a 2-week break would be a good idea to air across December/Jan but not Big Brother.

The announcement is…EOFY Local Annual Passes for $99 :admission_tickets:

However, at the end of the video, complete with the previous glitchy video filter…

"But don’t worry, something bigger is coming…"

Dreamworld’s social media team have caught on to people’s rampant speculation regarding their teaser videos…

ā€œPeople are either really excited, or have some wild theories!ā€

Honestly hard to say if the revival and this impending announcement are related.

Guess we’ll see soon… :man_tipping_hand:t3:

My gut feeling is they won’t host the house but might be a sponsor.

Could very well be, this was speculated within the Behind Big Brother forum as well. (hello @Kingston, I am an occasional reader! :waving_hand:)

It still creates an opportunity to rekindle the energy from back then with cross-promotion of any type between the show and theme park.

Bit of early promotion it seems… my MediaWeek is swarmed with BB ads.
Page wrap & heaps of animating ads.

Seen as part of second half of year promo

What I’m concerned about is the apparently 4 week season that’s being discovered according to production crew calls.

Hopefully it’s not a rebirth of the original format into 4 weeks because it won’t work.

Is it possible that they do a shorter Celeb Edition to reestablish the series, and then return to a full strength, 10+ week edition next year (even against MAFS at the top of the year)?

That is the only way I see such a short series working.

I can’t see Ten relaunching this as a celeb version just after Celebrity Amazing Race and close to a new season of I’m a Celeb (which I assume is where it will roughly sit in their schedule).

I’ve said before, I think 6 weeks is the perfect length to test a reboot like they are doing in the UK. Early Oct to mid-November could still mean that.

I get what you’re saying, but often shows will do things like this - just to test the format and the waters. Expect the season 1 cast to be very safe and vanilla too.

I’m really hoping this works out long term!

Have they announced casting for Big Brother yet? That will help give an indication on timelines

depends if its old school casting or zoom calls and central casting or just messaging people on social media. I think they need to go back to old school casting where they go out to places that you wouldn’t normally get people or fame whores living in.
