Big Brother

Love to see it return to Dreamward but I think that might be too big of an ask.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it comes our of Melbourne.

If they’re going back to the OG format I hope that they ban contestants discussing nominations regarding who they would next nominate. I hated them working together to get another contestant eliminated, a contestant who was often a threat to the others.

I doubt it - i believe the auditorium where the shows were held is in a pretty bad state structully and may have even been demolished (it has been slated for demo for a while) and the old house was broken into and set fire to so theres not much at DW

Promo looks promising especially with the original soundtrack and BB voice.

It’ll be interesting to see where the house will be based.

Honestly, I could see this format being based at the Royal Melbourne Show Grounds where MasterChef and Thank God Year Here are filmed.

I think there’s a middle ground by taking whats best from both the old and new formats

Make it live, give the viewers a vote for weekly evictions, make the content of the show more slice of life. Big Brother is meant to be real, raw, interactive 24/7 experience.

But have challenges for immunity/some power over nominations and let them talk voting tactics. Australia enjoys a bit of healthy sporting competition - heroes and villains can rise and fall naturally, alliances will form and when they break, rivalries will form - And Australia will get take sides and get their pound of flesh with their vote at every Sunday Night Eviction.

is the showgrounds too bult up? one of the good things for dreamworld is the amount of bushland around the house providing a good buffer

No, the grounds could accommodate this production, especially with live audiences etc. My preference would be Dreamworld, but its now too expensive to film there.

Hope they bring back Friday Night Games live across Australia online and the Up Late version shown on 10 Play.

I’m pumped for this. Based off the promo 10 know how they can make this work in 2025. 24 hour live streaming, live production cycle. If they get this right it could be a big financial profit for them. If they utilise paramount plus as the live streaming location it drives subscriptions etc.

The integration with what it could be in this day and age is makes me excited. Good on 10!

In regards to dreamworld the amphitheatre is gone, the land that the house was on has been sold as part of the town project. It’ll either be a temporary structure in a fitted out warehouse etc. it’s too much of an exercise and cost to build a permanent purpose built structure for the house.

It also does make me wonder if the US had an influence in this. Considering Paramount have the US tv rights, I do wonder if they approached for a x2 territory rights deal?

24/7 live streaming on 10play and/or Paramount+ will bring back the old Big Brother fanbase.

Surprised about Mel Tracina, but I think she could actually be a very good host.

Will be better than the pre-recorded over the top stuff we got from Seven for sure.

The biggest thing is that it is in real time, not recorded months in advance. That will make a huge difference in being able to engage with the show and evicted contestants in a social media world.

Can’t wait for this and Mel Tracina IMO is an inspired choice as host. Apart from the 7 abomination of BB I really dislike Sonia Kruger.

FYI the former site at Dreamworld burnt down over 5 years ago

Be interesting to see where they schedule it. 7:30, five nights a week, perhaps?

Edit: Ange Bishop just said on the news it will air six nights a week.

Firstly, I’m hyperventilating.

Secondly, OG BB is the pure essence of 10 and I’m looking forward to seeing how they integrate the new world media into the format.

Thirdly, the choice of Mel Tracina is great. She gets popular culture. I also think she’d be fabulous hosting BB Uncut (although I suspect times have changed…). I do wonder, from those promos, whether there is a chance we’ll see Gretel back in some small way.

Sounds exciting and I haven’t been a fan since the OG days. And Mel hosting will bring some fun in to it!

Friday night games? Yes please! Up late with Mike Goldman? Heck yes!!!

Anyone have the promo video to share?

Great news to have Big Brother back at Network 10 how many will tune in after Seven destroyed the franchise
