Big Brother

I just realised if it’s back in Q4 it means QLD will have it on delay. That’s really disappointing news.

Can always just stream the Sydney feed in this day and age.

Still better than 7 having a show air 12 months after recording it! I think they will be ok.

If there is a live stream of the house on 10 Play, surely they will be able to stream evictions, etc on that stream.

That promo’s HOT! :heart_eyes::fire:

What a wonderful return to roots for 10! What has been touted so far (24-hour livestreaming, live nominations/evictions) sounds like all the things we dreamed up when CBS acquired 10 back in 2017, when we were hopeful for a Big Brother revival then!

While nostalgia can be a dangerous thing, the use of the original logo, theme, and various clips are sure to get people’s attention!

now we just need the simpsons back at 6pm and we are golden

Also that sounds like THE Original BB Voice, Peter Abbott

Yeah I through that too…
Wonder if he is just the voice or EP again as well?

That just scratched an itch I’ve had since 2009.

Their last season was basically just low budget love island

It’ll be streamed live on 10 Play unlike the OG version when it was delayed to all markets

Subtle CBS ownership reference on 10’s social media profile pic?

The new host Mel loved the show during its heyday in the 2000s and is the right choice for host.

just because she is quoted to say something in a press release doesn’t make it true

Shame Ch7 wasted such a great opportunity to bring back viewers when former contestants returned to the show but they still had the crappy new format.

Or the cost will kill them off!

Do you mean how they discussed it in the new format Big Brother (i.e. Seven)? As the OG format they were very strict around nominations not being able to be discussed. We are told this is the original format.

One of the best things about UK Big Brother is that nominations can’t be discussed but once or twice a season they will often do face to face nominations (at least on the Celebrity version). It actually brings a lot of drama as people are often shocked at what is being said about them and the reasons for their nominations. I agree Big Brother shouldn’t be like Survivor and all strategy but the occasional face to face nomination is great.

I think the showgrounds would very much be an option. The only thing is that it sounds like it’s penciled for Q4 and the Royal Melbourne Show is on in mid-September which I assume would be a limitation? Big Brother would need a lot more space for a house, audience etc than other in studio productions. Although if it starts in early October as a 6-8 season or something then that may be possible.

The Entertainment Quarter/Disney Studios in Sydney have studios that could work, as well as live music venues that could be used for live shows (Liberty Hall for Noms and regular evictions, Hordern Pavillion for the finale). Or it could just stay at Olympic Park, there are plenty of venues that could work around there.

Excited that it’s going back to live. I thought BB was done in Australia. Glad 10 sees the opportunity here. Go big or go home!

The real shame is the time of year.

If it’s a giant success it won’t lead into anything. It’ll end into December then 10 run dead until mid January.

Lead in is wasted.
