I’m loving the four Royalty so far. Tim is still cunning but knows what will make good tv. Dave has such an infectious laugh, and clearly Reggie hasn’t changed a bit. Ice breaking anyone??
Seems the newbies are falling over each other to get noticed. Getting pretty tiring.
Thank goodness for the 4 originals. They have provided all the entertainment tonight. If it wasn’t for them, the first episode would have been like watching paint dry.
I’m sure if there were no originals they would have done something else. It’s not as simple as just removing them and assuming the leftovers is what we would have got.
Big Brother’s biggest bombshell shocks new housemates
Tonight, the game of Big Brother 21 years in the making finally kicked off, with Big Brother royalty Reggie, Tim, Dave and Estelle returning to where it all began.
The royalty’s happy reunion was short lived, as Big Brother set his first secret mission as soon as they stepped inside the main house.
Soon after, 11 new housemates entered, unaware of what was in store. As the new generation bonded, all four royalty successfully escaped to Big Brother ’s mainframe unnoticed, where they watched on as new alliances formed and old flames rekindled.
At the first nominations challenge, self-proclaimed perfect boyfriend Joel won the power to put three housemates up for eviction. He set his sights on Mel from Melbourne, Aleisha and Lulu.
At an explosive eviction ceremony, intimacy coach Sam revealed her secret past with Josh, but the biggest bombshell was still to come as the Big Brother royalty were revealed to the new housemates. The fate of the nominated housemates was left to the royalty, who decided no one would leave the house on the night.
While the other newbies were overjoyed at the prospect of playing Big Brother ’s game with the royalty, Josh was not in the mood to celebrate.
As housemates new and old sized each other up, little did they know three more blasts from Big Brother ’s past were about to blow the game apart.
Tomorrow night, Tim finds reinforcements as the battle between new and old explodes. As three new royalty enter the house, sparks will fly and a nominations twist has the house reeling.
Why am I not surprised? They played with the format so much it’s almost a parallel universe to actual Big Brother. Not to mention the dreadful VIP version that was one of the most despicable shows last year.
The first episode looked almost identical in format to Seven’s past seasons with little to no innovation culminating in the usual Survivor like challenge and a predictable winner. They should have introduced the format changes that they have promised straight away.
Additionally, 2 hours was too long for an opening episode.
They will now bring this forward. You watch them butcher episodes and try to create more drama. They will pull all the panic tricks out of the bag now to get eyeballs aka BB 2008
I really wish we’d see more interaction between the housemates. If all we see is them talking strategies it will get very boring. They can keep the challenges, but perhaps rather than having the winner nominate three people, they should’ve gone back to secret votes and the challenge winner having the option to change nominations?
so true. one of the big attractions of the older live series was being able to pull up the live cams whenever i wanted to see what’s happening. it helped build a familiarity with the housemates. every season i paid for the live cams - i switched to 3 at one point for my mobile so i could watch on my phone, i had a yearly pass to dreamward and went to multiple evictions per season. at the end of the season i’d do a house tour and get a pic in the diary room chair.
Ive barely watched the new series on 7 - it’s big brother in name only and nothing like the old series
Have to say, it felt like a chore starting the episode today. I think a big drop in ratings tomorrow morning.
Looks like it was too much to ask for last years’ main issues to be solved. Too much strategy, too soon. And back to back physical challenges .
At least they have finally changed the way Sonia reads the voting results, was it done that way in VIP?
A shame about the elimination, Josh seemed like he was going to be a hot mess. Can’t picture any of them becoming stars from here.
