Over 1000000
Over a million seems very optimistic. I’d be surprised if this pulls over 800k to be honest
Here’s how the premiere eps of unscripted titles so far in 2020 stack up in 25-54 viewership (total people in brackets)
I predict #BBAU at about 400k in 25-54 (similar to The Voice) which would make it the 5th highest premiere of the year.
It’s a very young skewing show so I don’t expect total people to be so high, maybe 850k
Masterchef - 651k (1228m)
Lego Masters - 631k (1228m)
MAFS - 601k (1154m)
The Voice - 411k (1012m)
Survivor All Stars - 352k ( 624k)
Gogglebox - 346k (685k)
House Rules - under 314k (679k)
Pooch Perfect - 248k (624k)
Dancing w/ The Stars - 244k (593k)
Ambulance Australia - 229k (485k)
MKR - under 330k (498k)
I reckon tonight all 3 networks will pull 800+ at 7:30pm tonight. End of a long weekend always provides big numbers.
Last year there was 2.454 million watching across The Voice / Masterchef / House Rules. Big Brother will do at least 800k I think and looks pretty good.
I just wish it only went for a tight 60-75 minutes. Shows are far too long these days.
What result would 7 be pleased with? I don’t think 7 are too concerned with total numbers.
If 7 are to relaunch to a younger demographic tonight, as highly suggested, all the focus would be on the numbers the show is able to pull from the 25-54 demographic.
Edit: The blue tickers looks much better on Sunrise, they should look at keeping it that way.
Who’s the young lady in blue?
You mean Sonia? The host of BB? (Or Eddy has a blue jacket over her red top )
The Sunrise OB was really well done I think. Certainly building some hype. And on a public holiday with a few more eyes on Sunrise.
Over a million.
I think you will be pretty close. People claiming there is no hype when there is around 50 posts in this thread alone in the last 24 hours. Most of my friends are looking forward to watching it as well.
Yeah If it wins 25-54s and/or 16-39s in its timeslot while still pulling a good total people, I’m sure they’d be happy as a start?
Seven told media buyers in May that their predicting 640k average for big brother and 800k for POO.
Do in this case they’re hoping to underestimate and over deliver if it does well.
The question is should it do well? Does it deserve to do well? No it does not. It’s lazy programming.
It doesn’t (unless in the EXTREMELY UNLIKELY circumstance it’s of a very high quality) but sadly in Australian TV you can get very low ratings for high quality shows vs extremely high ratings for cheap and nasty shows. Case in point, Married at First Sight. That show, as addictive as it is to many (for whatever reason) is cheap, low-rent and toxic programming that should rate about 1% of what it does. The days when quality equated to good ratings on TV are over I think.
Not confident about BB but very confident in POO? Good grief they’re clueless.
Re the Covid situation, I guess this sounds promising from that article…
While housemates are watched from 65 cameras, filming was interrupted when a crew member had come into contact with somebody tested positive. Housemates were also told about Covid-19.
“We had to quickly get that crew member off to get tested. Until we found out the result we had to suspend production.
“Whilst the rigged cameras continued to record, there were limited crew members running the house. The majority of crew was off-site until we found out about 48 hours later and got back up and running, when the result came back negative,” Fisk confirms.
“We will be leaning in to that moment, when it happened. That’s what Big Brother is. The housemates started noticing all the cameras leaving the camera runs and the rigged cameras stopped following. So they knew something was up before we told them.
“But when you are hermetically sealed off from any kind of germs it was the safest place in the world!”
Today’s Herald Sun, Daily Telegraph, The Courier-Mail and The Advertiser all have a four-page wraparound introducing the 20 housemates.
Apart from all the crew that regularly enter the house to setup props/activities/etc. They are separated from the housemates, but could easily leave a contaminated surface behind.
I found that (which The Australian’s Media Diary reported on today) to be interesting. Part of me agrees with your theory that they’re wanting to underpromise and overdeliver. However, my initial reaction when reading the article was it’s a pre-emptive ‘damage control’ leak in that Seven seemingly aren’t expecting their major ‘tentpole’ shows to perform as well as perhaps some might think/believe they should.
Seven’s thinking (which is outlined in The Australian article) is that Matt Preston & Gary Mehigan being involved with POO might draw some viewers to the show
