BBC News/World News

Newsday got new titles too!

The titles are actually very decent. Something similar would look very good on all the UK local bulletins.

I presume the bells in the background are from the footage from the top headline, because it’s very annoying.

The latest iterations such as Newsday and The World Today look quite good. The original variants such as “News Now” look shocking.

The bells are from the New York Stock Exchange opening bell, which I think they’re going to be broadcasting every day from now on.

Then here’s Business Today from London:

And in Singapore:

Following the tradition from The World Today, it reused a track from 2013:

looks like a lot of the changes has been under the hood - new control room stuff, and a rebuild of automation

To celebrate 25 years since the original rendition of the BBC News theme, BBC have been using special TOTH countdown countdowns today.

it’s so refreshing to hear the older variants again, the current version is now pretty tired, so wouldn’t mind if they bought back one the older variants fulltime

(hasn’t featured yet on today’s countdowns, the 2003 countdown remix will always be my favourite)

Apparently Martine Croxall is also meant to be back this month.

Doing a quick search on YouTube and reading a few articles, the BBC seems to have given them all their jobs back and embraced them to avoid further legal ramifications and settle the matter.

Martine Croxall has been posted above, seen rehearsing in the refurbished studio E.

Geeta Guru-Murthy and Annita McVeigh have been appointed chief presenters which is great. Seemingly no more random freelancers presenting.

Haven’t seen anything yet regarding Karin Giannone and Kasia Madera

Karin is definitely coming back - she posted about it on Twitter. I think Kasia is too but I don’t know for certain.
