BBC News Channel has made a change to their strap where it’s red… permanently, even if the news is not breaking
just when you think it couldn’t get worse…
Not bad, don’t like that they announce their own names during the opener. Also not a fan of the headline titles, seems they’re stuck in 4:3 aspect. Also jumping between presenters for finance, sport and news didn’t feel as slick as it could’ve. All in all, not terrible but would probably watch ITV.
Have you got a clip that doesn’t have a white background? Because it seems like they are doing this for this show’s graphics.
different shade of red depending on the circumstance
red for normal stories
brighter red for breaking

Completely unnecessary change. Black was fine. What’s happening at BBC…
is that gradient on the ticker just from your screenshot or is that also on-air?
from screenshot - was taken from FlashNews
we can only pray they “do a CNN” iykwim
meanwhile BBC Sport is actually making an effort with their new graphics on the NC

unbelievable that this is the same corporation that has bought you no effort in the news department relaunch
Just awful. The channel simply isn’t worth watching anymore. If they had any sense they would reverse all the changes as soon as possible. (Breakfast looks good, though)
Breakfast and Sportsday look fantastic.
New red bar that completely removes the distinction for breaking news is silly.
Combined BBC News channels output is okay. It was pretty compelling viewing over the weekend with the Russian mutiny. I can’t speak to the content outside of major breaking news.
Love the new set up.
So has breakfast vacated their previous studio within MediaCityUK and now shares what used to be exclusively the BBC Sports studio?
Just making assumptions given the BBC Sport angle features the sports newsroom backdrop behind.

Big news in the UK. I wont name the person but if it is who i have heard it is, they dont get much bigger.
already discussed in the BBC thread
Right ok, missed that.
If it is who I have been told it is, then they are BBC News.
The BBC presenter scandal has new developments affecting BBC News directly.
I think, realistically, Huw won’t return.
I think it’s time BBC made a woman the lead anchor, and I think it should be Fiona Bruce. She’d have to farewell Antiques Roadshow etc but it think moving forward it’d be the right thing for them to do.
