Would be helpful if someone was doing this for the World News channel - they just use website headlines for the ticker and it is very annoying.
It will be interesting though, because the local BBC News channel is good for local, but my only concern is how are they going to differentiate between the local British news and INternnational in their news headlines. I would think that they could air just the British news in the UK version of the News channel when the combination is christened

It surprises me that the BBC, with its massive amount of funding, can’t afford a domestic news channel anymore. I could argue the ABC manages to output more hours of domestic news on its dedicated channel than the BBC News channel.
Outside of Breakfast and the lunchtime bulletin, ABC News doesn’t really simulcast much with the main channel. Big blocks of the day time on BBC News UK are simulcast with BBC World, BBC One (particularly the 1, 6 and 10) and BBC Two.
Would that mean that BBC news at 10 would be done from Washington or Singapore.
the News at 10 will always be done in the UK - I can’t imagine the BBC producing one of their main bulletins to another country.
How will this work with ads?
Could the new channel be ad free?
It’ll be ad-free for viewers in the UK while ads will be shown to overseas viewers.
What happens presently during simulcasts between World News and News is whenever WN opts to an ad break, domestic viewers are shown more UK-specific stories.
Probably like ABC News (us) the ads are promos for their shows
