Has there been any talk yet if Nicole is returning? I noticed that The Pussycat Dolls current tour schedule finishes in Aus start of May followed by a final show in NZ May 2nd. It wouldn’t surprise me if they try and film it then with Nicole straight after that whilst she is over this side of the world. Then again they will prob announce more tour dates given their new single comes out next week, so I’d be surprised if she does it as her focus will be back on that.

Seven director of programming Angus Ross has told TV Tonight that the 2020 season will be a Champions versus Challengers edition: “It’ll be a mix of overseas acts and new Australian acts."
I thought it was going to be Australia’s Got Talent - The Champions? This Champions vs Challengers concept seems a bit silly and more like they struggled getting enough Champions back to do a show. It seems like the same people are cycling through a lot of these “Champions” seasons around the world so maybe struggled convincing a lot of them to do another. IMO they should do it one way or another not combine two concepts.

Yes, sounds like it’s a compromise which does neither concept justice. I don’t think they’d really struggle to convince the Got Talent Alumni to come out to Australia unless they just can’t really afford them. Half-hearted though seems to be where 7 are at with many shows at the moment - Got Talent failed to thrive last year because it was a half hearted comeback.
What was half hearted about AGT last year? Great judges, great host, some good contestants, heavily promoted, prominent timeslot, well presented…
The worst part about the show and arguably what brings the production values down is that it’s not live.
How are the production values down when it’s not live? That comment makes no sense.
If anything, production values are vastly improved by not being live. Any mistakes can be edited out and the production is slicker.
Being live adds a level of danger and maybe excitement because anything could happen but you certainly don’t have “production values” going up.

A competition show where the winner announcement is faked is pretty poor. It was clearly done on the cheap compare to previous years.
JBar hits the nail on the head - being live adds so much to a show like Got Talent as there is a feeling that anything could happen. I know though AGT has generally pre-recorded it’s performance shows but usually in the days before airing, and previously never faked their results.
Like with Big Brother if you’re going to do an established franchise, do it properly.

Not necessarily, she would likely be contracted to the production company rather than the network - in saying that it wouldn’t surprise me if it didn’t return based on the last seasons performance.
I’m assuming production for this season is moving elsewhere?
Not that i watch it but based on its theme, this year for reality shows is very much based on previous participants, even MAFS had returning brides.
Whatever they do, they need to at least do the finals shows live rather than pre-record everything. The fact that they pre-recorded four different winner’s announcements last year is very anti-climax and pathetic IMO.
Olympia is an interesting addition to the team, though I’m sure she’ll do well. It’s a shame Nicole Scherzinger isn’t available because she was one of the best judges last year.
Sonia Kruger on the other hand, not an inspiring choice. She should stay on BB.
I don’t mind Manu coming back but Shane has got to go. He’s overexposed and just not great as a judge.

Exactly. Even though I imagine they were expensive, Lucy and Nicole were the only judges I enjoyed watching.
I think Olympia would be fine but the other three don’t really entice me to tune in.

Manu especially needs to go. MKR has sunk. Viewers need a break from him. The panel lacks a singer IMO. It doesn’t need to be international… Getting someone like Jess Mauboy or anyone similar on there would be better.
