Don’t really have an issue with it - it’s essentially an extended ‘roadblock’ (a tactic which is used for advertising)
She’s on 973 in Brisbane tomorrow morning.
Any ratings articles from the last 3 years should suffice.
Would be great if you could provide because the ones I read said around 6 million
The first two minutes were simulcast on all Seven channels, before a channel change message…

The classification warnings were different?
This is enjoyable but where are the bad acts?
This is what the auditions also need to equally focus on! It lacks humour and spontaneity.
So there was no ‘roadblock’ of the first five minutes. Seven essentially played a two minute promo which was the opener that went for two minutes. I should know better than to believe everything I read!!
This new panel is ten times better than the 2016 one, so much more chemistry
To be fair, it did worse (Nine’s revival) because MKR was still a juggernaut then
Rikki-Lee’s reaction to Pricasso was hilarious!
It just goes to show that the majority of acts on AGT these days would be scouted. I doubt many are genuine people who audition. I only saw some snippets in the commercials but every act I saw were obviously very well known people. I’m sure the likes of Apollo were approached to be on the show, as was that guy who paints with his willy. He is always at Sexpo. Plus of course these international acts were probably paid to be flown out here and make an appearance.
I guess it’s not difference to shows like the Voice who do similar things but I miss the days of genuine talent shows like X Factor and Idol where everyday people just rocked up.
I guess it makes sense to scout some of the contestants to keep up the entertainment value. It worked for me because I’d never seen any of them before, but I guess it would be a bit frustrating for people who’ve watched the overseas versions. Perhaps they tried to get local contestants but couldn’t get enough who were suitable?
Love the 2 eps so far. Catch myself laughing and smiling all the time. That’s entertainment
They’ve absolutely nailed the judging panel.
Hands down the best judging panel in years. The chemistry is electric.
It’s far too choreographed this year. All the talent is previously used o other versions or established stars we know will go through.
What’s with the whole gotcha moments (ie - here’s an act we expect to do something and then they flip it on its head)? It’s like they are trying to create viral moments for social media rather than a free flowing show.
The auditions need to have far more bad acts as these are what really makes the show funny. And also acts that polarise the judges more.
Would also argue they’ve nailed the selection of the host. Wasn’t sure how Ricki Lee would go but she’s proved to be an inspired choice. She connects really well with the acts (the last act tonight is a great example of that) & her backstage reactions are spot on
I completely agree with this. I’ve only seen snippets but what I have seen feels so manufactured. Even the judges are way over the top and don’t feel genuine to me. Having seen Nicole judging on other shows like X Factor UK it definitely feels like she’s playing up to the cameras way more than I’ve ever seen her. It’s trying too hard to be a feel good, overly positive show with acts that seem to constantly surprise everyone. If it was toned down just a bit, and we had some more genuine auditions and contestants, it would have been great.
Now the show had quite a drop in ratings on night 2 so I think a lot of viewers must be feeling the same.
Totally agree so fake why go the British & American way & have acts from overseas ?
