David attached the copy of the rules to the fake idol and gave the package to Shaun.
I think the rules are confusing but David made it pretty clear in episode 7 that he was going nowhere because he could play his idol.
I think it was just a simple swap of idols.
The show makes it pretty clear the blue team is the Champions and the pink team are the contenders - and what you were before the tribe swap is irrelevent.
I agree the names make even less sense now - they could at least have done the tribe swap differently so it was a series of head to head challenges between the original Champions and Contenders with the winners declared Champions and the losers declared Contenders. The final two spots would be contender v contender.
Theyâd have had to hide the fact it was a tribe swap so contenders didnât throw the challenge - basically either say itâs for a reward and most wins gets it or the individual winners get it, then reveal later the reward is to call themselves a Champion.
After Richmond beat Carlton in the AFL this afternoon, Sevenâs Abbey Holmes spoke to Richmondâs Shane Edwards on the field. At the end of the chat, Shane said âgood luck on Survivorâ and Abbey just laughed it off. That last comment was edited out from the clip posted on 7AFL Twitter, obviously Seven doesnât want to promote a rival network show.
Itâs quite pathetic.
Iâve heard whispers that Australian Survivor season 5 will be Blood vs. Water.
I think itâs a given that weâll see Anneliese and Benji Wilson, Flick Egginton and JJ Henry (brother of Benry from Survivor: Nicaragua)
Where have you heard that? I heard of a contestant who turned it down who are not in a situation to do blood and water.
Um?
That was the first episode I actually enjoyed, even if the ending was pure bullshit by production to quickly deploy the steal just as the game was blowing up and ensuring the person that was needed to create the most drama was the one that needed to swap.
After being hounded by the relentless promos promising the best season yet, which apart from blatant false advertising, is clearly wrong, the episode wasnât all that great.
There are so many unlikable boring alpha male douchbags, smug unlikable players and the game play this season has been the worst Iâve ever seen. Not to mention screenhogs clogging up the screen and the most amount of players ever on an Australian season that just feel like boring window dressing, designed just to be token boots. Purple indeed. Then it feels like the edit is deliberately leaving important stuff out like the entire fallout over David/Shaun which everyone clearly knows about or Davidâs entire ordeal to obtain the idol from the contenders. Letâs not mention that production clearly made sure to give Shaun an idol by gently laying out the idol on Palm fronds with a cameraman directly standing in front of it looking at instead of the conversation unfolding. Real subtle.
Shaun is a grade A idiot. Who the hell doesnât check an idol as soon as you get it to make sure itâs legit. What kind of moron goes on blind faith. Though I guess I shouldnât be that surprised considering the âcatchâ he hitched his wagon to. I absolutely loathe David, but in the battle of the douchebags at least David has a brain, even if that is glorified by playing against absolute dummies. I was also not impressed at how Shaun just barked orders at Daisy to get rid of David. A, she isnât your lapdog and B you must be pretty naive not to notice that things change and how tight she is with David. Though Daisy must work better when sheâs being a doormat since she needs a big strong man to tell her what to do and gush over each morning.
Janine, Janine, Janine. For every intelligent thing she says or does, she as quickly undoes that with a boneheaded move. Iâm still reeling she actually let David take her idol and doesnât seem that fussed about it. I mean she had her opportunity to take him down and balked. Then she blatantly exposes her girls alliance, never seems to be too far away from them and then has everyone notice that sheâs the alliance go to, the boss. As Janine said it herself a personâs arrogance is their undoing. Listen to your own advice Boost Juice girl.
I really like Harry, but man that was so stupid. First he told his old tribemates he had an idol, which they donât like or respect him and were quite willing to throw him under the bus. Telling them isnât going to create bonds Harry, itâs too late. Then he tells Csey a foolish plan that was of course going to backfire and shift the target off his back onto Casey, who also canât seem to play a subtle game (which is a shame as I like her). Also why not expose/play up the whole Janine/David/Shaun fiasco. He hasnât played well at all.
Mercifully I was spared too much of the a-holes David & Luke. I would love Shaun to actually get David out, but honestly how is that going to happen now the Champions got to pick a challenge beast causing yet another lopsided tribe division. This is a recurring them on every Australian season and seeing multiple pagongings isnât fun.
So itâs nowhere near the best Season ever Channel Ten. Keep wasting those advertising slots seeing as no one seems to be buying them.
I am not surprised if they go that way as this theme really fits the Australian TV landscape more than anything else. We all know how much Aussie reality shows like to milk the family angle and peopleâs backstories, so Blood vs Water is something I always thought they would probably consider.
As for last nights episode⌠once again producer interference ruined what could have been an epic Tribal Council. Here we had Harry thinking he was getting all the votes, ready to play his Idol and trying to be a bad boy about it (but at the same time look like the weakest try hard villain ever), yet all the votes were going Caseyâs way. Then it is ruined by a stupid vote to other tribe twist. Come on producers if you need to make up extra episodes be a little more creative. Shaun being on the other tribe also ruins the dynamic to see whether Daisy does anything to get David out based on Shaunâs comment. I really wanted to see how that played out naturally.
I was surprised by the producers introducing the steal. When Jonathan told Contenders tribe it was not going to vote someone out, I thought the tribal members were sending one of them to Exile Beach.
Ewww, Blood Vs Water. I detested the Missy, Reed & Jaclyn season. Boring, cringeworthy and only saved by the winner. Seriously who wants to see everyone give up their reward feast for a loved one, or having to deal with Mother/Daughter issues.
I hate the loved one aspect, missing people from home as it is so I have no desire to see it yet again played out all season long. Obnoxious channel 10 promos hyping up the FAMILY DRAMA is something I could without.
Also we already have enough reality shows with teams competing (MKR, Amazing Race) we donât need to copy one of the US versions many failed concepts. Look out for Extinction Island next folks.
I also donât see what was wrong with having 24 ordinary Australians competing like the 2017 season, which was an okay season. Why are they relying on gimmicks exactly like the US version this early.
They have done this every year I think its time to do something else.
Who was the girl that looked like Margot Robbie? Wouldnât mind seeing her back
The tribe should listen closely to what Jonathan says when he hands over the immunity idol. If he omits âTribal council tonight, where one of you will become the xxxth person voted out of this game.â like he did last night they should expect a twist.
It was pretty obvious the fact that the other tribe were joining council that this was going to happen. Itâs happened almost every year. In this case though it meant that every bit of strategy we watched between the Immunity challenge and Tribal Council was a waste of time. Maybe if the other tribe knew they were voting we could have seen a bit of that discussion instead.
What would be the point of that though Chris. They knew they wouldnât send any of the other tribe home and the only logical outcome would be to steal someone or swap and of course you take the biggest challenge winner.
The episode was padded out enough without pointless discussions that would have resulted in the obvious outcome.
Even if no one went home, those strategy conversions clarified that Harry knew he was on the bottom, Casey wasnât to be trusted, Janine was firmly boss lady and the Champions were sticking together no matter what. I viewed this as setting up the future.
If only we got scenes like it on the old Contenders tribe so Sam targeting Daisy and the reasons why and Daisy turning on Sam wasnât plucked out of thin air and the complete hierarchy of the old contenders could be revealed.
So much of this season and the dynamics seem to be left in the editing room.
excellent tribal council tonight, I think the highlight is just how much of an idiot Andy looked with no one going along with his plan.
i was really looking forward to seeing who voted for hannah in the first vote, but they only showed the voted for the second round, which didnt reval much.
Very complicated voting but it was reported that it was Baden and John - suggesting that the old contender alliance plan to put 3 votes on Luke was changed. Davidâs instruction to Luke to play his idol ended up being bad advice. Expect a mad scramble by Luke to find another one. That immunity challenge was pretty epic as well.
