I agree with pretty much everything that you said. There were people in last nights episode who I had no idea even existed, including the one that got voted out. There was zero explanation why she was disliked and so easy to turn on by some of the other contenders. Which is odd for Australian Survivor as usually when someone is going they start getting airtime. We’ve had six 100 minute episodes… there should not be so many invisible people. It seems like this season the likes of David/Luke are just going to continue to hog the airtime. Also yeah evening up the numbers is ridiculous given the contenders won the challenges fair and square. Maybe they should have switched two people over from each tribe or something.
I definitely am not feeling this season like the last one. I know it’s early days but I’m over floppy editing, the same people hogging the airtime and so many useless/clueless people out there. At least last nights episode was a little bit shorter, which was a positive and it didn’t drag as much as Sunday.
I’m still catching up but why were people so critical of David (the model, i think that is his name) making a fake idol? It was clever. He got Shaun to swap his real immunity to then swap with Janine to make the idols possible to use. It was genius.
Probably that being sneaky could come back at him later in the game.
According to promos for next Sunday, Shaun realises it is a fake idol, declares David public enemy number one and plots his revenge. And he gets the word to his ally Daisy on David’s team, telling her to ‘get rid of him’.
How is it genius? It can only be used at a Tribal Council that only the other tribe can partake in, so there’s no advantage in making an enemy for no reason. Plus it’s only ever going to blow up on him, as we see in the next episode Shaun obviously realises it is fake. Even if he never did and went home by playing a fake Idol, one of his allies would then have the target right on David. I think he’s stirring the pot for no reason way too early in the game.
I don’t believe so. The Idol states that the swapped Idols can only be used at a Contender tribal council or a Champions tribal council. So apparently that means Janine’s real Idol which was never swapped would now be valid for her to use as she is now on that tribe.
“By a champion, for a champion” - David can play the idol on Luke at this stage and that is his only option. Likewise, Janine’s idol currently has no power as it is not in a contender’s possession.
It is based off the original tribe divisions and can be presumably played up until final 5.
This brings me to another point: why keep the Champions/Contenders tribe names post-swap, change the name like in David vs. Goliath how they swapped from David and Goliath to Vuku and Jabeni.
I think it’s very confusing and can be perceived in different ways. I see it that if they are now on the other tribe it didn’t need to be swapped and can now be played. Who knows really.
When Shaun read out the rules that came with the idol that David now has it said “this idol can only be played by a Champion for a Champion at their tribal council. It holds no power of immunity if played at a contender tribal”.
Janine’s said the reverse - they showed a close up of the rules when she found hers.
Edit: Janine is on a tribe of named Contenders and Shaun is on a tribe named Champions putting the idols potentially in the right places for tribal council use; but it is open to interpretation as to who is a Contender and who is a Champion. Is Janine now a Contender and able to use the idol? Can David’s idol only be used for himself and Luke? David may not have access to a copy of the rules, so may not know this.
