Was it? I am pretty sure I recall it being on 3 channels every night after the second week.
EDIT: It was on One and Eleven on a couple of Tuesdays from articles I read…
Even if it was on two channels my point still stands, and this is not slamming Celebrity at all (I understand it was up against greater competition). Survivor is doing better on average (including recorded views) and when I’m a Celeb was on two channels. I don’t think you can completely say there is no competition. In reality how many shows have done well following the Olympics on other networks? Not many. It has stood up quite well, ticked the right boxes. Yes I believe Ten would have wished for more but it certainly hasn’t flopped or failed.
Exactly. My favourite Matt moment was when he confessioned to be a ‘Mentalist’ and admitted he couldn’t read people or tell when they’re lying. LOL. Winner right there.
Spineless Sam is just a cretin. I can’t say I expected anything else from that situation. It wasn’t even about strategy, he just wanted to preserve his facade of a decent, honest, caring Aussie bloke. As for the Lee situation, I was hoping for more damage and a forced medivac.
I think it will too. It’s also had to prop up a crumpled Ten post MC. Sure it hasn’t worked but at least Ten hasn’t drowned. Just swallowed a ton of water.
I’m also not sure Ten would be willing to admit defeat after one try either considering exactly how much has gone into it (except casting).
If they did invest in Bachelor in Paradise, and I am all for it, it would be madness to commission that and The Biggest Loser and cancel Survivor. You don’t want all the same demographic (females) watching the network. I would be more inclined to think the two shows would, potentially, fill the void left between Celebrity and Masterchef. I am pretty sure ten will renew Survivor though, trends seem to point to a renewal but we will see.
Nothing confirmed but saw a few things on social media that Ten are looking at doing an Aussie season. I agree that doing a show like that should not necessarily mean cancellation of Survivor… but you know how our networks are with focusing on 1 reality concept at a time to get them through.
If they do Bach in Paradise they should do a Survivor as well, and use the same ponderosa location for Bachelor in Paradise.
That is actually a really good idea - it could reduce costs as well in terms of camera men etc.
Its true. I’ve had some criticism of survivor this year but I think they would be a bit stupid not renewing Survivor to be honest. I can’t remember the last time Ten have been this competitive in the 7:30 timeslot after August since Australian Idol days
Also if Survivor is renewed they also should film two seasons back to back like the US and shorten the seasons to normal length. Once again that would give more bang for buck. It would give them an extra season up their sleeves with only a couple extra weeks filming than what they did this time. Heck that could give them 3 seasons of shows from 1 location lol.
Well if price is the issue you have certainly given some ideas to reduce the costs. Not sure how two seasons would go but I have always thought it would work perfect following I’m a Celebrity.
When is the twist? Tomorrow? Im hoping its just a tribe swap but I fear its a gimmick that will result in no Tribal Council.
Tonight’s episode was good and great work by Phoebe. 4 tribal councils in a row though… the unbalanced tribe split has completely made this game one sided.
surprised that phoebe chose craig to send home. i thought sue was the obvious choice, she should be thinking about her numbers post-merge.
craig (&kate) voted for andy last week instead of kristy, i think there was an opportunity for a future alliance there. and phoebe seems to have a good relationship with connor. that and craig was their strength in challenges, she has just condemned vavau to another tribal where she will have a big target on her back.
the twist could be a kidnap, now that vavao has 4 less member 2 kidnaps would balance the field. There can never be too many twists, this season needs a shake up now
The tribal area wasl shown and the JLP’s dialogue was something like “normally I would ask you to vote but tonight is a little different”. Could not see who was he was talking to though.
The outcome was predictable. The editing gave it to us on a platter that Phoebe was getting all of the votes, Phoebe was going to play her Idol and the only tribe member who got a negative edit prior to Tribal was Craig (a few shots of him whingeing). Pretty sure he was in the promos for Sundays eps too so that trend continues. I still enjoyed this ep though it was classic Survivor. A shame that Phoebe had to use her Idol so early though and this is the problem with such a big cast. She now has a big target on her back for making a big move and it aint even the merge yet.
I think it will be a kidnap as well to try and balance the numbers but that would be more unfair than the initial way the tribes were divided. Its kind of like saying… if you lose challenges and your tribe dwindles down its OK because we are going to boost the weaker tribe up (and as a result weaken the tribe that has performed well). At the very least I hope it’s a twist that they planned pre-season and aren’t just making it up as they go due to one tribe underperforming.
It was good to hear some of the bit that follows “I’ll give you a minute to strategise”. We very rarely get to hear any of this yet it can be the case in the tribal rounds that people are sent home because of their performance at a challenge, and a better strategy might have seen a different outcome. Every aspect of last night’s challenge strategy seemed wrong or poorly executed by Vavau.
