Yeah I remembered that at the end of the episode - would have been good to have one tonight.
Iām pretty underwhelmed this week. Iām actually really hacked off there was no tribal. I didnāt mind the first one last week, but to have a no tribal so soon after the last one pissed me off.
The episode was okay. Better than the abomination of the one where Tegan was booted on a purely physical rigged challenge though.
The tribe swap was so hokey though. Blue wins, sticks together and cherry picks their favs. Yeah thatās not lame. I now officially hate blue. I like Jenna Louise, Nick & Kylie but not enough for the blue team to win and hope they implode and go to every tribal. Still PO that rancid Meter Maid is still there and in an even greater position of power. Die cockroach, die.
I do like Nick, but heās so frustrating. I havenāt seen him make one decent strategic move yet. Patching things up with Jenna Louise would have been great. Instead it descends into a bitch fest. Iām also frustrated with Kylie. Sheās like that clueless goofy girl that thinks sheās in the cool group only to be laughed at behind her back and used. Wake up girl and smell the coffee. They donāt like you. Move on.
This episode solidified that I canāt stand Matt. Knows he canāt trust Meter Maid yet still runs to her and does everything she does. Anybody would think he hasnāt seen a pair of boobs before. It was beyond stupid that he didnāt split up Meter Maid and her Siamese twin.
Yellow again delivered. Kat running around throwing old red under the bus and yelling drive. She even implied that Phoebe was a cheating slut. Glorious!! Craig finding a clue and Miss āgame on mollsā Sue being herself was divine. Iām really hoping old yellow sticks together, teams up with Kat and promptly destroys the original reds.
Iām also pretty over everyone over the age of thirty being booted. Iām sick of seeing the immature idiots catching all the breaks. Iād also really like some of my most hated players to bite the dust.
Like/Love: Nick, Craig, Sue, Kate, Kat, Jenna Louise
Meh: Kylie, Brooke, Andrew
Counting down the days until theyāre booted/Loathe: Toolie, Meter Maid, Bogan, Weasel, Zoolander, Control Freak, Private Benjamin, Krusty & Doreen Palmer.
Would have been good? I would expect there to be a Tribal Council every episode especially when we are told there will be. 8 episodes in and still 18 contestants. Will this season even end in 2017 at this rate? Itās becoming like Sevens revived version of The Mole a few years ago.
Someone suggested on the facebook page that possibly this episode was originally meant to be a longer ep (maybe a 2 hour merge episode) but by going to 3 nights a week they edited it out to 2 separate eps. Seems possible as it kind of just ended out of nowhere. Although they do have a few episodes to make up if they are going to 26. I would expect it to be similar when they do another tribe switchand do the actual merge (that last night was dissolving or balancing out tribes not a merge as they kept calling it)
I think it was meant to be 1 episode but they have split it in 2. They did the usual jenna focus at the beginning which meant she was in risk of being voted out. So I would think Blue will lose the next immunity challenge.
They need to make 26 episodes, I doubt it was a 2 hour episode as there has been a pattern every episode with the odd and even numbers. It was just the show trying to milk an extra episode with all the drama.
Channel 10 are advertising the next episode as āThe biggest blunder on Survivor ever!ā. Thatās a pretty big call to make and I highly doubt anyone in the Channel 10 promo department have watched all 32 seasons that closely to make that sort of call.
Prediction: Rohan goes home without playing his Idol. If thatās the caseā¦ itās happened many times before.
Prediction: Ten axe the show and realise it was a massive mistake to commission it Obviously joking.
Ten just wanted to get more bang for their bucks but they should have predicted the problems when other competition reality shows try to stretch these things and failed.
Yep itās reminding me of Sevenās revival of The Mole where they tried to do it 3 nights a week with eliminations only every second episode or so. The Moleās return had a lot of potential but it was ruined by how drawn out it was and Iām feeling the same about Survivor.
To get more bang for their buck it would have been smarter of Ten to film 2 seasons back to back like they usually do in the US for Survivor these days. Instead of this 55 days nonsense and massive cast they could have done two seasons with a 16 or 18 cast at 39 days each. Sure it would have been about 3 more weeks overall of filming but it would give them more episodes overall with the same setup instead of stretching out 1 single season. That way they would also have another season up their sleeve for next year sometime when Ten have a gap in their schedule as well (usually happens around the time Iām a Celeb finishes and before Masterchef starts).
For once I hope that Tenās hype is exactly this. It could also be he misread the situation and played the idol on someone safe like Phoebe. Either way as long as something negative happens to him Iām cool
OMG. I felt like I was going to pass out. The tension almost killed me. After three weeks Zoolander finally got the boot. Iām doing cartwheels. Even though I knew he was going home the moment Phoebe turned around at tribal to talk with Kat after reading Mondayās episode description, to finally see his torch snuffed was bliss. Sublime. Perfection. It was made even sweeter that it was Kat that turned the knife in as well amidst Aganoa imploding.
Fantastic episode though. My favourite by far. Loved both challenges. The basketball one is one of my all time favourite challenges and the mud one was pure fun. LOL at Phoebe not wanting to dunk her hair in the mud until the very last minute and Nick gingerly groping penis and boobs to get the mud off. Kate was so impressive in that basketball challenge.
Loved seeing Phoebe accept the inevitable, but I canāt believe the original yellow didnāt strategise better than what they did. It could have really backfired on them. Though for someone that likes to be in control I was a little shocked at how blase she was trying to scramble. She didnāt really make any effort mending fences with Kat, sort of threw Krusty under the bus and isolated herself with Zoolander. I was also really turned off by Krusty this episode. She came across as so disingenuous and patronising with Kate it was really awkward to watch. I can also see why she was on the outs on Aganoa.
This episode also confirmed that I really donāt like anything about blue. Apart from Nick and Jenna I would like to see the back of all of them. Though I couldnāt help but like Meter Maid after her reaction to the reward challenge. It was the first time Iāve actually seen something that resembles humanity from her. Kylie frustrates me no end. I can certainly see her going with Private Benjamin and Toolie but sheās so fickle. I never know where she stands. She also doesnāt have the best interpersonal and communication skills. Several times Iāve seen her talking with her tribe and she talks over the top of people and just waffles on without saying anything meaningful. You can see the others getting visibly annoyed, especially the girls. If she has some self awareness by realising she creates unnecessary targets on herself, then why doesnāt she change her behaviour? Also she knows sheās on the outs yet still stays close to them rather than making her own fate. I want to like her but she does a lot of silly things.
The preview next episode was delicious. Kat gloating about shafting Zoolander and rubbing it in Phoebeās face. Still canāt believe Phoebe is getting annoyed at her for not voting with her and lying though when sheās treated Kat terribly and made her feel worthless. Glad Katās dishing out the karma. Best thing thatās happened in 21 days indeed.
So the āBig Blunderā was Kristies. not what I was expecting, but definitely a big blunder.
Donāt see that personally. It was Rohanās and Phoebeās fault for alienating Kat and Krusty much earlier and failing to have a solid core alliance and repairing bruised egos. At least he left looking noble. Vacuous but noble.
Kristy definitely made the big blunder. She had the deciding vote, and an opportunity to level the numbers and give the Aganoans a chance but Kat completely manipulated her over a personal vendetta, now she has no alliances.
Phoebe is not going to want anything to do with her, Kat is very willing to vote out the aganoas and side with favao to save herself.
BTS edition on Eleven?
I think the ābig blunderā was Rohan voting for Kat. Had he gone along with the plan and voted for Sue, it would have been a tie. His random decision to vote for Kat essentially got him voted out (as well as giving his idol away).
Yes exactly. Rohan stupidly sent himself home with his vote - otherwise he would at least have had the chance to make fire against Sue.
Rohan then saying in his last words he was happy that he left having kept his word - what, telling people you were voting for Sue and then flipping at the last sec such that even Phoebe didnāt know you had done that? Dumbarse.
Deciding vote? I donāt think any of the ex Aganoaās even hashed out a coherent plan. If they had Rohan and Phoebe would have voted together. It was a shambles. I also think Kristie lost the little power she did have the moment she went to yellow. Kat had all the power and Phoebe was an idiot to even think that Kat would be on board with her. She has wanted Rohan out since pretty much the get go.
Kat doesnāt need Phoebe so she means nothing to her. She may not have an alliance but sheās bought herself a few extra places, maybe enough to the merge. If sheās clever after they vote out Phoebe she should throw Connor under the bus. He has many more allegiances to blue than her and sheās a loyal free agent. Kat made the best decision for herself and she got revenge it was a win win. I loved her stare down at Rohan too.
I also think youāre forgetting she went into yellow without any alliances as well. Why should Kat trust Phoebe again or any of them after what they did to her?
That was the stupid move. However, it it was a tie, there would have bee a revote between Rohan and Sue (if I understand the rules) that he would have lost, so in the end it didnāt matter, except that he didnāt know that when voting for Kat.
Iām so frustrated by the promo department killing the suspense of this show. We pretty much knew that Rohan was going prior to the episode so it wasnāt as suspenseful as it cold have been. Otherwise it was a decent episode, apart from the fact that we had 2.5 hours of Survivor between votes.
There was no big blunder apart from Rohan slipping out to others about the Idol. It could have been a game changing move to hand over his Idol to Phoebe had it played out right and IMO he deserves some credit for taking that risk. Even if Rohan voted Sue it would have been a tie and a revote would have got Rohan out anyway, yet had he kept the Idol he would be left with no allies and next to go as well. So a fair risk to take.
Why would they make fire? Have I missed something in the Australian Survivor rules? The only time a fire making challenge can happen at a Tribal council is final 4. Otherwise it would be a revote and if still a tie would go to rocks. Had it been a tie here it would have been a revote and everyone would have voted Rohan. He was going home either wayā¦
I think we are aware that every single challenge goes for longer than the 10-15mins we se on TV.
