Australian Survivor

Although if feels like they found the emergency button for a twist in event of the possibility of their golden couple being evicted the 24 episode run means they have a non-elimination episode at pretty much the same point each year both pre-merge and post-merge. They’ve used a variation of Exile Beach most years a couple of boots into the jury stage.

What a stupid twist towards the end of last night’s episode. After the tribe voted out Jordie 8-1, JLP announced there would be another vote, and this time the remaining tribemates voted out KJ, without realising both of them would go to Purgatory with Shay.

I would have thought that when Shay didn’t turn up at the jury, alarm bells would go off that a twist was incoming and they would have changed their plans up a bit. Or maybe they’d assumed that Shay was a lock to win a challenge over Jordie (& KJ)

I can’t believe 3 out of the 4 are coming back from purgatory. What a waste of 3 tribals.

I wonder how many people thought the episode was over after the tribal and changed the channel?

Was not expecting 3 to return. Seems like a huge backwards step. You’d feel pretty cheated if you wasted an idol in the last 3 tribals.

Yeah I was wondering how Mark and Sam were so confident not using the idol. Especially too when the rest knew about it and all that talk. Must have been producer led.

This season is the biggest dumpster fire imaginable. It’s even worse than that 2016 shit fest because this time everyone was warned about a couple with two idols and yet these bozos just sit back and can’t wait to be 4th, 5th & 6th.

What is the point of watching when you know nothing is going to change. Chrissy, Dave, Jordan and Josh would have to be some of the dumbest people that have ever played. None of them have made any moves that Samantha Gash & Mark can’t take credit for and for whom the jury will give credit. Dave’s move amounted to nothing (SUE’S BIG MOVE!!!), was anyone surprised, and he still acts like he has agency and a brain and we all know he has neither. I will never fathom anyone that goes on Survivor and plays to not win. Who cares if you lasted an extra seven days, you’re still a loser and you haven’t won squat, just made a fool out of yourself on tv.

I still don’t get how Samantha Gash and her idol steal is legal. Everyone says it was stolen, yet in previous seasons it was illegal to steal an idol. Just because you have the idol in your possession does not mean you own it or it’s yours to have. Jesse never actually said ‘Sam, I’m giving you the idol, I want you to have it to play,’ she just snatched it and didn’t give it back before he was booted. It should have been void when Jesse was booted.

Can Samantha do anything without conferring with Mark first. It’s embarrassing at this point. Even asking who to vote for at the latest tribal. Pathetic yet everyone says what a great player she is. No she just happens to make a good lapdog, Mark is very lucky indeed. Seeing her trying to use the ‘Sisterhood’ and running around acting like a paranoid idiot, again, enough.

My god Josh is a smarmy douchebag. So you still want to stay with a pair when one of them can win a challenge and has two idols. I wouldn’t trust his pilot skills, he’s judgment and situational read is horrendous. Even if you can can beat two out of the six at challenges you still have to content with the possibility at being idoled out. Sticking with Mark has ruined his game and I can’t see him winning from here in any scenario. Also really tired of his arrogance and brazenly calling the shots, no one likes that level of smugness and over confidence.

Chrissy’s Paris Hilton dumb blonde routine is grating. She isn’t young enough or pretty enough to pull it off. Yes, she’s dumb, moronically dumb in how she’s playing but she’s acting like she couldn’t count to five in her confessionals. I guess she is only a teacher, maybe it is true.

I really wish Michelle had won over KJ. Spineless KJ being back will change nothing, just add yet another player that says they’ll make a move only then to suck up to Mark and his group.

Production must have realised how shit and boring this season was going because the Purgatory episodes felt like a last minute ass pull to try and split up the majority six. Yes we were due some non elimination vote offs, but four was overkill and seemed designed to have the bottom dwellers bond over being booted and have a renewed energy going back when it failed to break the majority. To have three go back in sort of confirms it not that it will matter as they won’t have the numbers. They need to flood the game with idols at this point for anything to change when you’re dealing with stubborn idiots, even then they would still probably stick to the core six.

I loved the ring toss and fire throwing immunity challenge, though it was essentially rigged for the middle person to win immunity at the fire tossing as they had an unfair advantage of just having to throw straight, not on an angle like the others.

Australian Survivor has jumped the shark this season IMO. They just reuse the same old gimmicks to drag the season out. To have 3 people return (which is effectively 1/3 of the remaining cast) at this point from this made up “purgatory” is just plain lame. It’s complete luck whether or not you are out at a vote that gives you a chance to come back. No wonder this season is struggling to get above 500k this late in the game.

If they must then a better way to do it would be to have a redemption/edge of extinction twist all season long that the players at least know about (and can strategise around) that at least gives everyone an even shot to fight their way back.

This version is the complete opposite of the direction that US Survivor is going. Sure the US has a lot of twists and new elements but at least they are intended to speed up and make it a faster/more intense game rather than relying on returning contestants and Idols. Australian Survivor has become too much of a predictable slow burn.

The Survivor auction is back.

The Joker Has The Last Laugh.

Sam Gash Eliminated From Australian Survivor: Blood V Water.

In a major moment for the biggest gameplayer in Australian Survivor: Blood V Water , Sam’s torch was snuffed tonight as her strategic streak finally came to an end.

The previous night, in the wake of Jordan’s elimination, to say Josh was fuming to learn that his cousin has been sent to the Jury would be putting it lightly. David had flipped on their alliance, and Josh was coming for blood, as he warned there’s going to be consequences.

Waking up on Day 40, Joker Jordie had tunnel vision for Sam. The misfits had a fire in their belly, and they were coming for Sam and her stolen idol. Chrissy was even beginning to doubt her alliance, as she pitched to Josh that it might be time to finally take out Sam.

Today’s critical Immunity Challenge required precision, a challenge fit for an ex-SAS specialist. Jordie and Mark went neck-and-neck, but Mark won yet again, securing a spiffy necklace to pair with his two idols.

Back at camp, it became evident that Josh held the swing vote. If he flipped on his alliance, he could remove Sam, or he could stick to the plan of removing The Joker.

It was a banquet of whispered conversations and panic at Tribal Council, as the strat-chat continued right up until the votes were cast, with each alliance trying to sway Dave and Josh to vote with them.

Josh and David surprised everyone, as they joined forces with the misfits to send Sam to the Jury. To quote Jury member Jesse, it was “flipping epic”.

Sam explained: “When you roll the dice, sometimes it’s gonna’ go in your favour, and other times it’s just not. The goal for Mark and I was to have one person in that final three. Does it sting a little bit? Of course. But the heat has been on me for two weeks and there’s another side of me that’s happy to wash it off and not be public enemy number one for a little bit.”

With Josh and Jordie joining forces, and two idols still in Mark’s possession, this Sunday is heating up to be an episode of Australian Survivor: Blood V Water that you can’t afford to miss.

Continues Sunday At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play On Demand.

That almost looks green-screened.

According to today’s Sunday Herald Sun, Clarke-Jones has reached a confidential settlement with Endemol Shine over his injury on the show. The lawsuit was dismissed last month.

Nice he got to see his granddad.

Word at Pyrmont is the series is heading to northern WA for the next season, with a beach setting.

What a stuff up from KJ!

Promo confirmed it is a top 3 facing the jury In The finale. Stupid. They could have had one less non-elimination episode instead.

Are they planning on airing another season this year? I think the show needs a break after such a lackluster season rather than trying to overkill with another season in the year. Probably a good time to bring it back would be mid or later next year.
