The episode of Survivor you must watch live… because the ratings are in the shitter.
No matter how hyperbolic the Survivor promos are they never fail to adequately over estimate the episode.
Whilst for the most part I am enjoying it so far, the episodes are really dragging for me. They’re way too long and the repetition of both the content and content givers in confessionals is the worst offenders and we’re not even at the halfway point. So many players still get zip. It also hasn’t helped that almost every episode features a wrestling match or a purely physical challenge or usually both.
Really sad to see Sandra go but the writing was on the wall the past episodes, ominous reaction shots, nearly every player wanting her out . They even mentioned the 16 day curse in the early episodes so I never got those dodgy spoilers that said she made it far. Still I loved listening to her and her advice, perceptions and opinions were always usually spot on. It’s no wonder she won twice with her common sense and ability to read people and situations but she was underestimated then and now she isn’t so I doubt she’ll ever make it far again if she chooses to play.
Jordie is okay but the more he opens his mouth the less I like. It wasn’t an epic move to blindside Sandra or get her out early, it was the easiest and most obvious move to make. Strategically it didn’t make much sense either, especially if you are a physical male. She was the perfect shield and the perfect person to keep around as she is hopeless in most challenges and has the in built threat level deep into the game.
Samantha Gash wailing she didn’t get to play with Mark yet failing to grasp the strategic importance of having a foot in both camps was trifling.
Do those identical twins do or say anything? One of them exposed Amy’s idol and that’s it for 7 episodes. For a pair to get promos before the show started, what a waste.
I like Chrissy, but I’ve realised in small doses only. I still can’t figure out if she is truly dumb though. I think it’s all an act to disarm people but then she brazenly searches for the idol in most obvious way possible.
Mark’s getting a lot of strategic content, but it’s also undercut with negativity. Samantha Gash has chimed in it it only works sometimes and then his strategy never worked very well in the rowing challenge which they lost.
Shay playing the idol in the most stupid way possible was just the icing on the cake. Playing it on herself without her name getting mentioned as a possible boot, yeah fantastic. She could have made a move, but she just sat there probably thinking about how much Ben nourishes her soul.
Can’t wait to see a bitter, revengeful Sophie next episode.
