Australian Survivor

I thought Episode 4 flowed much better and didn’t seem to drag at all. Enjoyed the immunity challenge and really enjoyed the strategy.

The location really is so much nicer than last season.

I love Sophie but gee she really never saw that one coming. Way too over confident and in only a solid four alliance no less.

It was a shame it was a non elimination leg (how anyone could have missed it was a bit shocking) and was surprised they wasted it on Sophie. I thought they’d be reserved for Sam, Sandra & Mark. Still it could have been a lot worse, like saving someone who hasn’t had any screen time yet.

I agree that episode 4 was much better but I still don’t like the predictability of the twists. Change it up.

Wow they’re really pulling out all the stops to save Sophie. or is this like MAFS and its all scripted from the beginning?

Sophie is good tv, but terrible at Survivor gameplay. It would be disappointing if she made it far after being saved twice like this.

To be fair Alex has been a lame duck since the first episode and did have a flair up with his back earlier in the episode. I think it was only a matter of time before he quit or was pulled. He also did himself no favours with his challenge performance. Thankfully he did the right thing so someone else could stay.

Besides if he quit after someone being booted that would have meant another Production save twist, probably for one of the pets after the merge.

I love players like Sophie. Emotional, volatile and prone to chaos. It makes it so much more interesting to watch the human factor involved in a supposedly clinical and strategy dominant environment. It doesn’t make it as predictable and isn’t as boring watching a game bot drone on and on about needing numbers or pontificating about a blindside that is never going to happen.

Is she going to win, definitely not but I’d love to see her go as far as possible. Would love to see her on the Jury.

I have to laugh at the Blue tribe, they threw that challenge all for nothing and Sophie/Khan is still there.

It was interesting to see them having the reward at the losing tribe but it was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I hate to see Survivor players maul each other after only a couple of days and get overly sentimental like Ben & Shay, keep that crap for Love Island or the hideous Mafs. Though I loved seeing Sophie go on her revenge tour and cuss out her alliance. Her cornering Sam was part cringe part slow moving car crash.

Sam needs to get better at Jury management and diffusing situations because this is the second time she’s been in the deep end with a disgruntled player. Walking away and lamely just saying she needs water is not dealing with a situation and burying her head in the sand achieves nothing. Burning bridges with potential allies is incredibly short sighted.

The foreboding of Sandra’s demise has started already. The ominous scene of Sam and Twin#2 watching Sandra in the water with the guys and then the promo. I hope Production throws her a lifeline.

I think Alex did the right thing, though I don’t get why his tribe loved him so much. He didn’t seem engaging or charismatic enough or vital to the majority where they were begging him to stay. I thought making him throw his buff in the fire was harsh. He wasn’t a Naonka type quitter.

Sharing food at a rival camp is one of my least favourite rewards. It only made the rival tribemates jealous.

Sad to see Alex pulling out. He could have done it in episode 1 but he was waiting to see if his back could improve over the next few days.

This is only speculation (not spoiler) but based on a lot of her interviews and commentary - I think Sandra might make it quite far. She’s made comments about how long and grueling Australian Survivor is for such little money (compared to the US). That made me think she’s not just an early boot. She was also harping on the other day about the season not being available in the USA. I think she’d only be that keen for it to be shown if she does well. I guess even just surviving a few votes or making merge would be a good result, given I would have otherwise expected her to go early.

I have heard that she makes the top 10.

I don’t really pay attention to commentary because you always glean spoilers given how either morose or upbeat they are to talk about it but I did happen to catch her on The Project before I quickly turned it over and she seemed a little despondent and from the questioning and response it was obvious she hadn’t won. Maybe I should have watched the whole interview then.

Thanks for the heads up though and agree if she went further than she thought and was proud of her performance she would be wanting people to watch. I guess the foreshadowing has begun really early then and sowing seeds of why she came up empty.

A lot of violent physical challenges this year, getting repetitive. I prefer the strategic challenges, very few of them so far.

The tribe swap will happen in this Sunday’s episode.

Tonight’s elimination

Jay Had No Say In Tonight’s Gameplay.

Jay Bruno Eliminated From Australian Survivor: Blood V Water. Continues Sunday At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play On Demand.

Queen Sandra stayed Queen tonight, adding another string to her bow with a consecutive blindside, proving she is this season’s matriarch. Tonight’s victim was the unsuspecting Jay, who had no idea it was his last day in the Australian Survivor: Blood V Water outback.

Sandra woke up worried as Day 16 was looming, which has always been a sticking point for her in the game. At the top of the day, she knew she had to break up the alliance between Amy, Jay and Dave.

It was a brutal water showdown at today’s reward challenge, leaving the Red tribe gassed, and the Blue tribe feasting on club sandwiches and orange juice.

Over at the Red tribe, paranoia was escalating, and with time to kill, the core alliances went off idol hunting. Amy split off and was able to get her hands on the idol without any witnesses, or so she thought.

The immunity challenge pushed everyone to the brink, with Croc receiving medical attention after the cargo net wall sucked up his last ounce of energy, as Blue stole the win from the Red tribe.

Back at camp, the hustle was real as many plans were concocted for the Tribal Council bloodbath.

Remember how Amy thought she’d found a hidden immunity idol without anyone witnessing? Bless her, but Amy thought wrong. Australian Survivor sleuth Michelle does not miss a beat, and is not to be underrated, as she took this precious intel to the rest of the tribe to devise a plan to flush Amy’s idol.

Armed with Michelle’s keen observation, Queen Sandra quickly planned a split vote between Amy and Jay, to ensure one would be sent packing. Jordan let Amy in on the tribe’s knowledge of her idol, urging her to play it to ensure his ally sticks around.

At Tribal Council, Jay spoke with excitement about another blindside, but the poor thing had no idea he was on the receiving end of the Queen’s scheming.

As planned, Amy played her idol for herself, confirming it just wasn’t Jay’s day, as he became the fifth castaway to have their torch snuffed on Australian Survivor: Blood V Water .

Continues Sunday At 7.30pm On 10 And 10 Play On Demand.

How are they not seeing how dangerous Sandra is? Jay and Amy were not a threat at all. And jay was probably the best looking guy there.

I’m not overly excited by this cast so far. Sandra is the main reason that i’m watching. It just feels exciting seeing her play again. Last night’s was my fave episode yet because she had so much airtime. Pretty amazing for her to manoeuvre her way through these votes. She has always had a good knack at keeping the target off her when she should be the first person everyone wants to get out.

I’m over those same repetitive battle type reward challenges as well. They are so repetitive.

Great episode last night. The rowing tug-of-war showed the weakness among the blue team when it came to physical challenges.
The day 16 curse hit Sandra once again. Strange to see Nina voting to send her mother home though.
Shay wasted her hidden immunity idol as no campmate voted against her.

Yeah I’m very surprised that Sandra left. There was a lot of speculation that she made it quite far. In interviews she seemed excited for this season to air, made comments on the length of it compared to US etc. Maybe her comments relate to her daughter that gets far.

It is quite bizarre that every time that she’s played she’s either won or left on day 16.

Very humble in defeat too. Found it refreshing in comparison to Russell when he came here and was an arrogant prick. Good on the Queen for being so humble and nice on her elimination.

Sandra was great value, glad she lasted as long as she did. Hope the show doesn’t run out of steam from here. There are not many power players emerging. So far there is no Hayley or George equivalent. Maybe Nina will take the crown?

Sandra gave a long interview this morning. She said Australian Survivor was by far the hardest of any season but she left without having any ill will towards any tribe members. 47 days, the challenges are horrible, they get harder as you go and the weather is extreme.
