Australian Survivor

But it all Depends on what’s going on with the Area Married at First Sight is Filmed in, The Ongoing COVID Lockdowns have already delayed Production on the Upcoming Season and may extend even Further.

Perhaps the report in The Courier-Mail today may give you a clearer picture?

It is behind a paywall. What happened with brains vs brawn this weekend though? Did it pick up a heap of viewers on 10play or something?

I’d say it was a “cut and paste” job from a previous article and wasn’t altered for this new one.

No mention of “Brains v Brawn this weekend” in the article. Here is an excerpt.

Juggernaut reality series Australian Survivor will film in Charters Towers in a $29 million return to Queensland.

Filming on Survivor season seven is expected to take place over the coming months.

Rumours have been rife in Charters Towers after accommodation was booked out for the remainder of the year and advertisements for crew were posted around town.

“Cloncurry provided the game with a visually stunning location, and we know that Charters Towers will provide an equally rich Australian backdrop for the Survivors to battle it out,” Endemol Shine Australia chief executive Peter Newman said.

“We look forward to working closely with the local community and crew and supporting the Charters Towers economy throughout a successful production period.”

So it seems like they are going down the path of the original US Blood vs Water - a tribe of returnees against a tribe of their family members.

For me it’s too soon for another All Stars cast. It is such a cheap grab IMO. We’ve only had 3/7 seasons with a standard cast. The other 4 either had returnee’s or celebs in some capacity. I’m predicting we will have some 3rd time players.

I am struggling to see how that can be possible for two reasons.
There are not a lot of survivor players who could return and a lot of them are very active on social media at the moment. Matt from season 1 has also disputed rumours about several contestants being asked (Like benji and anneliese from S2)

Put a comma in there and it makes sense.

Filming officially commences today (October 6).

More ‘celebrities’ on this show as if we don’t have enough of these ‘celebrities’ infiltrating our programs over this year.

There are also rumours that two time US winner Sandra Diaz Twine is competing.

Not sure how I feel about this.

She won’t last long but I love this.

I’m not sure why she keeps playing. She had a perfect record for so long as a two time winner. When she bombed out of Game Changers early she should have just stopped there. Instead she keeps playing and even quit Winners at War (being the only contestant not on the jury). No doubt she will be gone pre-merge this season too but it will be interesting to see who she is paired with.

I’m not a fan of this celebrity angle to BvW. That’s 4/7 seasons that have had celebs/Allstars in the mix.

This sounds awful, hope none of its true. Very excited for Blood v Water theme and would even take an All stars vs their families but please no celebrities - Survivor is a huge show now and they don’t need celebs to be successful, if anything it dilutes the authenticity (and makes the growing number of hard core fans mad)

10 seems to have an unhealthy obsession with casting ‘celebrities’ into their shows. They’ve already got I’m a Celebrity, Masked Singer, Bachelor/Bachelorette at times, Celebrity Masterchef etc and now they’re trying to shove more of this with one of their proven hits.

They (and to a certain extent, Nine and Seven) never learn.

I don’t see it. The two Champions vs. Contenders season were both very successful for 10.

And as far as I’m A Celebrity and Masked Singer goes you can’t run the shows without “celebrities”.

I just don’t think that they should be putting ‘celebrities’ on Survivor when they’re doing a ‘Blood vs Water’ theme that doesn’t require celebrity casting. It screams of stunt casting that is very lazy and uninspiring.

“How do we make our version interesting? Let’s put some D-grade Celebrities onboard!” Yawn.

It might’ve worked with Champions vs Contenders but it doesn’t mean that it will keep working.

Yeah, I just don’t think Survivor needs celebrities to be successful. IACGMOH and MS are conceptually entirely built around celebs, Survivor’s not. Both CvC seasons were great, they really cemented Survivor’s position in the TV landscape, such that they no longer need to rely on boring D-grade celebs anymore imo.

I can only assume they struggled to get people out of Victoria/NSW and that is why they went down the celebrity route. I would have rathered all returning players. It wouldn’t have been that hard to find 12 of them - even if it was people who played in the last all stars season.

I’d be up for watching that.
