Great little teaser and great to open the year with it. I think based on the colour scheme it looks like Blood V Water.

Hayley Leake Wins Australian Survivor.

George Mladenov Named Runner Up And Flick Palmateer Places Third.

After 48 gruelling days in the toughest conditions the game has seen, Hayley Leake successfully outwitted, outplayed and outlasted her rivals, and was tonight crowned Sole Survivor of Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn, taking home the $500,000 prize.

For the last Immunity Challenge, the final three Castaways, Flick, George and Hayley, stepped into a chamber complete with narrow pegs on the floor, and spikes on the ceiling. At intervals, the ceiling dropped, making it harder to stay in position. After four and a half hours, both the sunset and the precarious ceiling of spikes above them fell.

George was the first to step off, prompting a showdown between Hayley and Flick. At the five-hour mark, Flick was in unbearable pain and Hayley’s body started to shake. Unable to hold any longer, Flick dropped at 5 hours and 17 minutes. Hayley won Immunity yet again, plus the advantage of deciding who she would be up against at the final Tribal Council.

Hayley believed Flick had secured more votes with the Jury, so George would be her safest bet. Hayley stuck to her guns and voted out Flick, leaving her to face George in the final Tribal Council.

At the final Tribal Council George was first up to face the Jury and made his case to win. He pitched that he was a minority from the outset, surrounded by a tribe set to pick off the physically weak, and that he had wanted to control the chaos. Changing the tone of the game, he moved from a phase of playing double agent to a dynasty reign in the last stretch of the game.

Next up was Hayley who was equally as proud of her gameplay. She explained that despite initially being in a majority alliance, she still knew what the minority were doing, having the power to swing the vote. Tribe Swap saw her in a minority, but then she found an Immunity Idol and played an Immunity Idol effectively over three Tribal Councils.

Each member of the Jury then asked their questions before the final votes were cast. With 7 votes for Hayley and 2 votes for George, Hayley was crowned Sole Survivor.

Thrilled with her win, Hayley said: “I survived 48 days, I made massive blindsides and I was a physical beast out here. I’m proud of being able to come out here and play a really big strategic game. I didn’t want to hide in the shadows, I wanted to make big moves from the start, and I did that.”

JLP said to TV Tonight that it’s definitely a US theme that’s been done before so I think you’re 99% on the ball with it.

As always excellent move for this to headline 10 after I’m a Celebrity. Will give them a chance to push Seven into 3rd place most nights if done right.

It was a great finale last night. Hayley was a well deserved winner as she played a much better game than George. George’s pitch at the final tribal council and his revelation that he hid behind to hear other castaways’ conversations clearly showed his arrogance and could not be trusted.

For the record, Hayley won the final vote 7-2. Only Cara and Laura voted for George.

I really enjoyed this season of Survivor, which was ruined by the numerous twists by the producers to keep George in the competition, and too many hidden immunity idols.

I wonder why (despite the decent ratings) the timeshifted figures were lower this year

Early hit with the Olympics perhaps with more competition throughout the day so less time to watch recordings or on 10Play.

And three relatively strong franchises airing at once surely does them no favours. Watching one and recording another may be quite doable but gets more tricky when you have a third in the mix.

According to Sunday Herald Sun, the next season will feature loved ones – be it siblings, a parent and son or daughter, couples, or close relatives.

Sounds like Blood vs Water is confirmed.

That is Blood vs Water - the theme has been done twice in the US.

I’m not a fan of this theme, especially in our local version. Aussie shows love to milk the family side of things. I’m not sure how a whole season of it would go. It might just be overkill.

The US version had returning players and Redemption Island in the first BvW season and new players with duels in the second. These were designed to get a reaction when family members were voted off, or force them to go against each other 1on1. So I wonder if we will do the same sort of things.

There were two contestants Benji and annalise that are siblings and were in different seasons. I wonder if they would return for blood vs water.

Benji is also dating Jennah from season 1 so could do it with her. But it doesn’t sound like it will have returning contestants.

Contrary to what you just said, many leaks among the survivor fanbase community suggest that it is likely the next season will involve returning players.

Oh good that article made it sound like it wasn’t.

Have they started filming yet? Robbie from season 3 has just landed in Queensland. Could he possibly return?

What a confusing article

After the recent success of Australian Survivor Brains vs Brawn this weekend, production is now ready to commence on the next season of the popular reality franchise.

What do they mean by recent success this weekend? Am I missing something?
