There was an idol hidden at tribal council in the latest South African season but the player had to find the idol and give it to the host to play it, so it wasn’t a secret idol.

I was starting to think Laura might be getting a dark horse edit. But now that she just left she turned out to be disappointing casting, barely made a ripple in the game.

Some clever game play tonight -finally getting rid of a huge threat. The power couple survived and still have an idol. With just a couple of weeks to go Hayley must be firming up as a favourite. Poor Andrew, the first episode he is featured in and he ends up on the wrong side of the vote; not sure why he was so concerned about George compared to the remaining Brawn team members.
I sensed some heavy editing tonight. I don’t think Hayley ever really considered voting George before Emmett. That would just send her into minority without many options going forward.
Andrew is in trouble now, he gave up his comfortable position for nothing. Never ends well when you let emotions & vengeance get the better of you.

Hidden immunity idol on consecutive episodes. I wonder if the production team planted it to keep George and Cara in the competition for as long as possible.

Absolutely. Was so frustrating as that episode was going so nicely and being all about gameplay and strategy only for them to needlessly throw yet another idol in the mix.

Based on advance schedule, there will be no reunion special for this season.
I suspect the winner was leaked weeks ago considering one player has been red hot favourite with Sportsbet since the series started. They really need to outlaw betting on reality for anything that isn’t live.

The Jury Villa was located at a former quarry outside Cloncurry.
Why do I get the feeling the save scroll was brought out incase George went and somehow he was miraculously saved? Are these gonna stay till someone gets the save by process of elimination or just brought out for this tribal?

I hate the twists, they only make them play more conservatively. Wai might have been on the fence with her vote, but with that twist in play, it’s not the time to make a big move, so she went with the easy vote.

Hmm I think its a pretty big jump to assume the producers were intentionally intervening to save George… 1. because they likely would have already known that Wai wasn’t intending on flipping before tribal and therefore George was safe, and 2. if they wanted to save George so badly surely they wouldn’t have left it up to chance.
Besides, to finish on Sept 7th (ep 24) with a final 2 tribal council, they need one more non-elimination ep, so I agree the twist will probs stay till someone’s saved by it.
They’ve been appearing to be intentionally intervening to save George throughout the series. I don’t think either there has been a single tribal since merge without some kind of twist.
Empty scrolls out today. I suspect they’ll be back for the next two tribals as they need the non-elimination episode - whether they put the “save scroll” in them will depend on how the conversation flows.
TBH if they need to fill out an extra episode would much rather they just did a retrospective as the penultimate episode with the final three looking back at how they made it that far, especially as often in previous seasons finalists have included people who were barely mentioned in the first half of the season.

This. Anytime George seemed a certainty to go they pulled out a twist but he was never the benefit of the twist because the players went the other way with blindsides
