Sadly, all FTA Networks do it. Three months of endless ads. They’re catchy to start off with, but the novelty will wear off. Seven with Idol, 10 with I’m A Celebrity, and soon - Nine with Married at First Sight.
On another note - good to see it advertised as airing three nights a week. I am glad that the same three judges as this season are returning.
Foot tapping, shoulder bouncing, goosebumps, and a burning urge to sing? If you have these symptoms, you could have Idol fever.
It’s highly infectious, and in a cheeky promo to launch the hotly anticipated 2025 season of Australian Idol, judge Marcia Hines comes down with the virus. Nervously sitting in the waiting room of the doctor’s clinic, fellow judges Amy Shark and Kyle Sandilands do not take the news well.
The soundtrack of the new promo features an exciting collaboration with Hines and ARIA-Award-winning DJ and producer Sgt Slick, who has sprinkled some 2024 magic on Marcia’s 1976 disco classic, I’ve Got The Music In Me.
Primed for dance floors across the Australian summer, Marcia’s stunning all-new vocal performance is masterfully engineered with Slick’s impeccable production.
I’ve Got The Music In Me is a contagious, funked-up disco house anthem that brilliantly combines the talents of Australia’s foremost disco diva with one of our best producers.
“I’m overjoyed to be working with my dear friend and brother, Sgt Slick,” explains Marcia. "I couldn’t be happier with how he’s brought new life and energy to my song.
“This is such a special moment, especially as we celebrate the incredible young talent coming through on Australian Idol. I can’t wait to see where their journeys take them," said Marcia.
If you have Idol fever’ there is only one treatment: Take the full course of Australian Idol, three nights a week. If symptoms persist, you can get a booster on 7plus.
It’s likely that this will be the initial early promo just to start building hype and will probably air for the next month or so. Then as it gets closer they usually start inserting other ones showing contestants and other things.
Will check-out chick Iilysh be Australia’s next Idol?
A small-town girl with big dreams, 17-year-old Iilysh has her sights set on becoming Australia’s next Idol when the hit star-making series returns to Channel 7 and 7plus in 2025.
Hailing from the small regional town of Culcairn, NSW, Iilysh is a check-out-chick who lives and breathes rock music.
She started singing as an eight-year-old, wanting to accompany her father who was always playing guitar in their home.
“As a young girl, I discovered how people can be moved by music and that everyone can connect through the power of a song,” said Iilysh. “I found that singing brought me comfort, and an escape from everyday worries.”

Australian Idol Returning to Channel 7 and 7plus in 2025
Rockhampton handyman Jaymon wants to trade the tools for music fame when star-making series Australian Idol returns to Channel 7 and 7plus in 2025.
The 22-year-old proud Indigenous man wants to represent his community and realise his lifelong dream of becoming a full-time musician.
“Growing up as an Indigenous kid, I’d love to inspire other kids to chase their dreams and give everything a crack!” said the laid-back Queenslander.
During his audition, Jaymon impressed the judges with a stunning acoustic version of Ronan Keating’s take on Garth Brooks’ If Tomorrow Never Comes.
“One contestant after another, you’ve got no idea what they’re going to do. Then, every now and again, a gem walks through the door,” said Judge Kyle Sandilands of Jaymon’s performance.
