Depressing isn’t it, though indeed it’s probably fairest to compare it to the channels efforts in Q1 vs MAFS over the last couple of years since MKR was ditched of which it may be the most successful.

I kind of getting the feeling that whoever wins is going to disappear pretty quickly except from ch7 where they’ll promote them as Idol winner and have them turn up on random stuff, where as any other media outlet will be just very meh about them.

I agree with you. Back in the day, many Idol contestants were hot tickets and would make regular appearances, like red carpets of quite a few events and do big shopping centre appearances etc. i know times have changed, but I can see the contestants now possibly appearing on Sunrise once “evicted”, to then go into obscurity.
Id say that the Carols in the Domain would have a spot for The Voce winner, and not for the Idol winner too.

One of the big differences, though, is that this season’s winner will be managed by Jennifer Fontaine, which is obviously a huge shot in the arm for their career.

I remember that one, his audition was horrendous.
As far as Aussie auditions go, nothing goes past this one as one of the worst I’ve ever seen.
