1089 also being China makes sense, since when I try to null out 3WM it goes with it, being that both are nearly 180 degrees apart at my location. I can hear them clash at night with the usual beat throbbing going on.
I just got back from a short drive up to Maitland.
Can concur with Orange reception (and also inland in general) as I also had clear 2PNN CW Slopes on 106.3 around the streets of Newcastle, 2WPR 107.1 ABC Local was received but weaker.
Did a bandscan at Stockade Hill East Maitland and received all Orange stations including 2PNN 91.9, 2CCB 103.5 and 2OAG 107.5… 2GZF Hit 105.9 was the only one I could get with RDS though.
Also heard Tamworth 91.7, 93.9, 103.1 and Upper Namoi ABCs (except 99.1 and 101.5), as well as CW Slopes 102.3, 105.5, 106.3 and 107.1 … 107.9 seemed to be a mix of TCBL Dungog and Move FM however. Real FM Mudgee was heard too, as well as Coffs Harbour ABCs on 90.7 91.5, 92.3, 97.9 (but 99.5 was Move FM).
I had the newer Warkworth mining TX Power FM 95.7 there as well. Didn’t hear any new services on air (eg. 98.5 and 99.3).
Yep, the masts for that are just on the south side of town (towards Swifts Creek). It’s a wonder they don’t convert that to FM; plenty of frequencies available and 720 kHz is very low power anyhow, so doesn’t provide bulk coverage like 828. 97.3 goes alright even in the gullies and gulches around Omeo (didn’t really listen to 90.1 MMM).
Similar conditions up in my part of the world also.
All Mount Gambier high powered commercials (SAFM 96.1 and Triple M 90.5) were received with their usual ABC counterparts, with a couple even giving RDS strength, confirmed by checking the auto logger on FM LIST.
Mount Dundas ABCs made an appearance also, at fair to good strength.
Broken Hill ABCs briefly came in but quickly faded out.
Some Adelaide came in also, even with a weak Nova 91.9 that barely made stereo at times. The rest were the usual catches at RDS to local strength (all Crafers ABCs, SAFM 107.1, Mix 102.3 and Triple M 104.7). Three D 93.7 was at good strength but seemingly has no RDS this time around.
An interesting discovery in RDS land is that 100.7 Riverland Life FM now has partial RDS. No RT name but it does at least have the other texts.
5RM has finally fixed their RDS encoder also, with the titles now updating properly. They did have a playout breakdown the other day (audible on both AM and FM with all of the station idents playing repeatedly), so what fixed that must have also fixed the RDS.
Possibly 7BOD (Star FM St Helens given that Chilli FM was strong. Good catch if so.
Possibly Tamar FM George Town, TAS
7RPH/t Devonport.
Triple M translator in the Latrobe Valley?
3OCR Colac?
There is a 7BOD repeater on this frequency as well I think, Bicheno. Otherwise 3APL Bacchus Marsh.
TR FM? No 99.5s in Tassie to my knowledge.
7NT/t Rosebery (Mount Read).
7RPH/t Launceston.
Hobart? I don’t think the 7BU repeater is on air? There’s also Flow FM at Kingston SE/Robe but I know Apollo Bay heavily favours the south and not the west.
