No doubt 2BRW would be in there somewhere?
A challenge would be 2MNO/t 90.5 over the Rebel, not that you’d prefer it!

NZ DX into Sydney 91.8 & 92.6 Concert now.
Concert FM Hamilton into Bowral mixing with 91.3 splatter
Auckland & Hamilton gone, but think I’m receiving via SpE ABC’s 91.7, 92.5, 94.1 Launceston into Sydney.
UPDATE: 91.7 still there in/out. Suspect 93.9 7ABCFM was there earlier weak briefly.
100.7 WOWFM is weak in Sydney atm, so @tvcl & others might want to keep an ear on that frequency for Gippsland.
Something very strong on 97.5 briefly in Melbourne playing ads. Gone now though.
Just had a quick scan. ABC FM Hobart 93.9 was noted. Nothing else due to local or semi local services in the way. Gold Coast still
7DBS on 88.9 here - not bad for 500W vertical over a semi-local
Into Brisbane?
What semi local uses 88.9 there?
I get steady faint reception of 88.9 Coraki - not bad for 1kW at ~180km, but it’s almost always there.
I earlier lost MMM to Launceston on 92.5.
Yep, lost Sea FM to JJJ there too
Thanks for that detailed explanation, RFBurns.
Are you just recording the baseband for the whole FM band? I’d like to do the same, but it chews up a ton of disk space and needs a relatively powerful computer to do so. I’m thinking of tasking either my AirSpy R2s to do the job or my RX-888 which is currently in the post on the way to me.
Nice. Was this on the TVCL TEF server? No RDS? Unfortunately, I missed it as I was at work.
Got ABC Classic Hobart here in Sydney on TVCL3 also with full RDS decode. Coast FM Devonport also received with full RDS decode.
I did have a quick try at the Mt.Barrow (NE Tassie) outlets on your TVCL 2&3 but I didn’t receive them. Your TVCL1 webserver was in auto scan mode.
The received frequencies/stations were on my SDR at home.
I received the following Auckland outlets:
88.6, 89.4, 90.2, 91.0, 91.8, 92.6 & 93.4MHz then not long after 91.4 RNZ Concert Hamilton @ 1823hrs LT, then Mt.Barrow ABC outlets, with 91.7MHz being in the clear & heard in/out for quite a while with brief weak appearance of 93.9 7ABCFM Hobart.
Nice going with 104.7 7DBD, not sure I’ve ever caught that from here. I didn’t think the SpE frequencies were reaching that high in this opening given the NZ frequencies only reached as high as 93.4MHz for me.
Received 3 x Devonport stations in Brisbane - 100.5 ABC, 101.3 and Community 104.7.
From Rosebery there was 7QN 106.3, plus 105.5 and 107.1 at lower levels.
Also at the higher end of the dial Vision 104.3 from Hobart had good levels.
The SDR I have only does about 6 MHz of the band.
That’s interesting, 105.5 wasn’t on air at Rosebery when I was there last April.
Was it country music?
With my new AM loop aerial setup, I figured I’d try some MW DXing to try out how good the TEF really is in terms of selectivity between stations. Some notable skywave catches are these:
Its cool seeing the TEF do better than nearly all of my portables I’d accumulated over the years, the right antenna certainly makes the difference in some cases.
Noice! What time of the day was this?
Just in the last 30 minutes or so. Using the grey line really helped get a few of these rarer catches, but otherwise have been mostly new to me.
TVCL1 wasn’t really in autoscan mode – it just says that when it loses connection (since that TEF was dying). I’ve swapped it out for this desktop TEF for now:
Which SDR are you using? And how do you decide which section of the FM band to record?
909 is from China, I believe.
Which AM loop antenna do you have?
