Today is a flat day for tropo so those signals are similar to what I have received when I have been up there.
If you go up to Burralow road you would have better LOS to the west and have a better chance of receiving Bathurst and Orange, probably not as good as at Dural.
BTW did you get RDS on Pulse fm while up at Kurrajong Heights?
Indeed, conditions are very flat atm.
Normally I can pull a RDS PI code from Pulse FM, but not tonight
& I canât see a RDS subcarrier either.
There is a possibility that no RDS subcarrier is being broadcast today.
I left the SDR & RDS Spy run for a while tonight & I did manage a PI decode of F899
Re Dean Park. Iâve listened in at Rouse Hill, marginally closer than Dean Park, & RDS decoding can be quite iffy there.
If only they could get their modulation & transmission problem sortedâŚ
Little bit of enhancement here in the early hours of the morning. 102.5 Tenterfield is in, as are the ABCs from Mt Dowe. Semi-locals from Toowoomba and Warwick are a little enhanced too.
Also hearing the Wide Bay ABCs, but that might be just signals bouncing off the planes rather than tropo.
With enhanced signals about I played a little with SDR#'s new âMPX Fuzzâ feature.
I discovered that on 87.6 using SDR#'s MPX Fuzz I could uncover & hear River FMâs signal over Voice of Islam that always dominates the channel. By comparison using the FM CoCh Canceller I could barely hear River FM.
With 94.1 there was Pulse FM & Todayâs Country making a mess of the channel with neither station dominating. The âMPX fuzzâ feature made it easier to resolve content of both stations. The Co Ch Canceller was useless in this instance.
In brief the MPX Fuzz feature is a useful DX tool in âsomeâ instances.
92.5 Music FM still having transmitter issues with their TX switching on & off. How many weeks or months ago was this first noted? Should just switch it off for good.
It has been ongoing since late September. They are not proving a service to the local community. I think they are on borrowed time with ACMA, have they addressed any of ACMAâs concerns???
I wonder if there are any other community groups out there interested in the licence if it was to become available?
I know for a fact that they are unreachable, I have tried calling, emailing, texting, DMing (On their many social profiles) and sending carrier pigeon, about wanting to help and get involved, with nothing back.
So, I think itâs a lost cause, which is so sad as I know youth radio can work really well with the right people in charge.
@TheChase said has tried contacting them by multiple means to get involved , and help them out but, but has heard nothing back.
Wasnât the original complaint made to ACMA was the station was not serving the community, and the issues was they were struggling to get volunteers to run the station and produce content.
Here they are ignoring someone wanting to join their organisation. I guess with the previous complaints and if someone can prove that they are a closed shop, ACMA will have to take action.
Maybe mods we should move this to the community radio thread, and get back to talking about tropo and dxing here.
Yes I have noticed that too, with weak 103.5 2BA being received. Just typical local enhancements tonight, Illawarra / Southern Highlands, and some low to moderate enhancements from Newcastle. At this stage stronger from the South then north.
BTW Jukebox I mean Music fm is just broadcasting a stereo pilot when the transmitter is not cutting out.
I gave my TEF6686 a good run this morning with the tropo being up this morning on the Coffs Coast. The large 210mm whip antenna was used and it managed to pull in Triple M Gosford over SBS Port Macquarie by moving the antenna. Havenât heard that one at all up here. Illawarra ABC stations were noted with RDS on 95.7. Sydney, Gosford, Wollongong and Newcastle were all noted as well as River 94.9. Strangely, no i98 but rather NewsRadio from Gosford. Another new logging. Reception was at Boambee Headland.
