I think I read somewhere around Easter, and that he’s been in hospital all year undergoing major surgery/operations. Hopefully he makes a full recovery.

A full recovery would be great for Alan.
And a prayer for the doctors and nurses who have to hear that COVID is a fiction every time they check his pulse. If he is in St Vincents (Alan’s usual choice) I also pray that Malcolm Turnbull has no reason to visit the hospital. Just the sight of Malcolm walking past his room would be enough to send Alan’s blood pressure through the roof.

I was only gone for a few weeks. I was worried about Alan and trying to track down his whereabouts. His carer, Jake, is very young and may not have been aware of the stress Alan was feeling of late. Alan was “let go” from Nine Radio and then from Murdoch’s Sky News. Imagine being told that they did not need you to host you Sky News show whilst keeping Paul Murray - Paul is as about as interesting as an unsalted pretzel.
At first I was concerned that he was mixed up with Craig Kelly and could be locked in a basement somewhere in the Shire or floating in a chaff bag off Cronulla. I was able to dismiss this as a conspiracy theory. The only people visiting Craig’s house were wearing tin foil hats and none of them knew where AJ was - but they were missing him. Most of them were able to explain that they believed a U2 album that had been microchipped in their arm when they received their vaccinations. Interesting.
I waited outside Stephanie’s house in St Ives, in case Alan visited for some tea and scones. I know that they both used to enjoy spending afternoons cutting eye holes in white bedsheets. Again - no luck. Stephanie told me that finding Alan was like searching for “the n***** in the woodpile”

For a while I wondered if he was still broadcasting his little internet show and no one was listening. I Googled “Alan Jones Direct to the People” but all I found was a story that involved Alan and a public toilet in London. It seems that he also disappeared for a month or two after this escapade in 1988, although it did give him some insight into what makes parents “die of shame”.
Yet it was Mediaspy the allowed me to track down the whereabouts of Alan. I believe he was in hospital and I wish him all the best. I look forward to the return of “Alan Jones Direct to the People”. I like the way Alan gives “the voiceless a voice”, even thought he classes the voiceless as Tony, Pauline, Craig and Clive". It’s more accurate to describe it as “giving the crazies a voice” and for that Alan will be long remembered after he is gone.
