De Goey aside (I think he should have been rid of ages ago) what problems do you think there are regarding attitudes towards women?
The video of the two Collingwood players rating women is not something role models should be doing. And it is honestly disgusting behaviour from anyone.
They were not rating women. They were participating in a hypothetical TikTok trend.
They were rating women.
No they were not. They were participating in a TikTok trend where a poster (male or female) ārateā a hypothetical person (male or female) after finding out a particular fact about them (e.g. āheās an 8 but he still talks to his exā ā4ā). No one real is ever rated.
God forbid we have overlapping games - Australia seems to be allergic to the concept that you can have multiple games of the same competition regularly at the same time.
Was never the case in the old days. But these sports have all bent over backwards for broadcasters. If they just had multiple broadcasters for the sport it wouldnāt be an issue. But theyāre hell bent on these ridiculous simulcast deals.
The original tweet is vastly overestimating the amount of time people have to devote to their sport watching in 2022.
It goes from being a 5 and a half hour block to being around 8 hours, give or take.
And Iām sure WCE fans would be delighted to pop around to the pub at 10:30am to watch.
Huge crowd at the GWS V Hawthorn game.
They did rate hypothetical women based on looks, being a certain look or being a certain person. It is disgusting and was condemned by the club.
I rarely watch games not involving my team, and even then - seeing the last quarter/half of a close game is far more common than watching the whole of a neutral game - which I only really do for finals.
While Iām sure thereās some out there, someone sitting down and wanting to see the whole of multiple games in a day - much less three or more, is just a negligible issue for the AFL.
Good timeslots for in person attendance for games is more important, a 4pm Sunday game sounds horrible, as does 12:30 starts.
I was watching an AFL match on 7HD and noticed that Fremantle are wearing their indigenous jumpers. I donāt know why the Dockers are wearing their indigenous jumpers at todays game.
Itās NAIDOC week
Geelong and Adelaide also wore their Indigenous jumpers yesterday to celebrate NAIDOC Week.
They shouldnāt be on there full stop, a recipe for trouble for someone earning so much and being in the public spotlight.
Nothing that wrong with it in private, it is normal, but you donāt do it on video, seriously they need an upper cut. āDonāt do it again!ā
For many years we had two Saturday games at 14:10, two night games at 19:10 and two Sunday games at 14:10. Not sure what he is on about really.
(The exception being timezone differences of course)
I will admit I havenāt seen the video in full.
Why not the whole season?
They still want flexibility with broadcasters in the backend of the season
