Sorry, couldn’t resist voting for “Hold it in a hotel with sex-mad security guards” for a laugh! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

If Victoria is unable to hold the AFL Grand Final, personally I think the game should be played in Adelaide or Perth. Unless the local teams make it, mainstream Sydney & South East Queensland won’t be interested.

Well said. I’ve always beleived that if away team in another state gets in the grandfinal (if it’s two away teams from Victoria, such as SA, Gold Coast or WA) then they should be held in that state.

Where are you hearing these rumours? Can’t see it happening with the limitations of interstate clubs.

It could be a hub featuring Victorian teams only

Carlton is next to join the Perth hub

There are no limitations on interstate clubs coming into VIC.

Geelong is this close to being locked down.

Yes there are. Most states are stating do not travel to Victoria. I don’t think clubs would be wanting to put their players at risk either. Where did you get this information from? I haven’t heard it.

Yet they cannot easily leave - the AFL are engineering the hubs to avoid the need to quarantine once they move

Last Night, Hawthorn scored a Meagre 3.9.27, Their Lowest Full Time ever under Alastair Clarkson and their Lowest since Round 9, 1964.

Yet they still only lost by 5 goals. I think these sorts of stats are pointless this season with shorter games etc.

There has been a lot less scoring this year.

It can’t JUST be the shorter games, can it?

No but surely cutting a game by 20% would reduce scoring. There has been a mass of other changes this year so it is a bit of a pointless stat looking at things like the lowest ever score.

I think scoring has been generally dropping the past few years?

I’m not quite convinced of Port this year. They had a win against a good side today. But so much isn’t quite right. It was probably their first win against a good side. The rest of been against average sides. But to beat GWS is a big tick.

Dear Port - acknowledge you stole Never Tear Us Apart from the Newcastle Jets. And stop using it. You’re not the Jets and you’re no Liverpool. Fuckers.

They have always acknowledged they got the idea from Liverpool. They even did a documentary on the ideas they used from Liverpool…

Interesting fact for this season. Port Adelaide have played the most games in QLD as of this week (every game) - even more than both Gold Coast and Brisbane now. They have also never lost at Metricon Stadium.

An interesting stat this weekend - no team played at their home ground, nor their home state

Essendon has sent me an update regarding my guernsey that I’ve chosen. I am now able to select a size and they’ve given a guernsey timeline.

• July 24 - Final day for members to choose a size
• August 1 - Under Armour begin guernsey production (5 months)
• January 2021 - Guernsey arrived in Melbourne
• February 2021 - Players sign guernseys
• March 2021 - Guernseys available for collection

Guernseys will be able to get collected at various home games in 2021. If unable to attend a home game, they’ll be posted at a cost of $10. Guernseys will be posted from April 2021.

The R8 fixture has just been released and I think someone on here is going to be really excited about the Thursday night game:
