ACE Radio (Regional)

Though Edge is stronger in the Albury area (from what I’ve seen). But if they can get the Wodonga relay on 93.7 going, that could make it interesting there.

I think the Further West of Tatura, The worst it is going to get. I interested to hear the what the signal is in place like Stanhope and Corop. I am heading to Kyabram for Work next week so I can see what the signal is like.

Edge FM struggles here too. Star FM is 1000 times better signal in the Shepparton Area compare to Edge Deniliquin and Wang FM signals

They can’t just move into the Shepparton market by stealth? Of course, fortuitous coverage is just that, but it shouldn’t be deliberate or targetted? I am sure SCA will do what it can to put boundaries on outsiders creeping into their territory.

Will be interesting on there weekend lineup. Nothing on there website

So far Matt Hobbs has been on 6:00 to 12:00, Mat Cummins is on from 12:00 (assuming voice tracking)

Sunday morning Nathan Robb

I quite like the new Magic and Star logos. It’s a fresh look, with a sort of turntable background. Nice colours and font. A big improvement on the current logos, IMO.

Also got to say from what I’ve heard so far better music variety. One of the best variety playlists I’ve heard on commercial radio for a long time

The best Magic logo was the old Magic693 logo with the magician’s hat.

Do you happen to have a pic of it? I Googled it but couldn’t find it, I don’t think I’ve seen that one.

Can be found here on Magic’s website from 2002, which details the history of the station up until that point:

Totally retro, I get it. But at least it properly represented the name, “Magic” better than a plain circle.

The further west you go, Hit 91.9 Bendigo would wipe out 92.1.

I don’t get why they would do that on Saturdays after being 6-10 each weekday.

Surely there’s enough talent in the ACE Network to throw on a different voice then?

It’s common for breakfast hosts to pull a weekend show

Probably a voicetracked one at that too, particularly on Sundays.

100% it’s voice tracked, I’m just saying since Wangaratta is now part of a larger network (rather than 4 stations as it was years ago), why not use that to your advantage to give the listeners some variety. It wouldn’t cost any extra.

Swinburne’s travel grant program enables up to five students per year to spend two weeks based at Ace Radio Network stations across Victoria.

Looks like Ace is finally getting the Bright translator up and running.

I’ve spent a fair bit of time around the area and have never had any problem with (in car) reception around the area so I wonder how much extra coverage they’ll actually get.
