The graphics are the same graphics Fox Sports have been using for WNBL since they started this stint of broadcasting it and the same as they used for the NBL when they were producing the coverage in 2015/16.
Basketball Australia announced changes to the 2020 WNBL season fixture on Friday, due to players and staff from Adelaide Lightning having to go into quarantine until tomorrow (November 23), after a COVID-19 outbreak in Adelaide last week. Each team will now play 13 regular season games by December 14, prior to the four game Finals Series commencing on December 16.
After this weekend, the ABC will show six more matches, including regular season games on November 28-29, December 5-6 and December 13, plus the grand final on December 20 at 3pm AEDT.
The 2020/21 fixture for the A-League was released at midday AEDT today, to be followed by the W-League fixture next Monday (November 30). The ABC will broadcast one match per round of the A-League and W-League season live, and all matches of the W-League 2021 finals live, while an A-League elimination final, a semi-final and the A-League grand final will be shown on delay.
The first A-League match to be broadcast on the ABC next season is expected to be Wellington Phoenix v Sydney FC from Wollongong on Saturday, January 2 at 5pm AEDT. New club Macarthur FC will have its second match (against the Phoenix) to be shown on the ABC the following Saturday, January 9.
This is so stupid, why do they have The biggest Game of the season on delay
Foxtel. It sucks.
WNBL game today cut to go to the news (or Landline in Adelaide) with 2 minutes to go after a power outage in the first half.
I get they donât want to hold the news back for sport, I can recall a handful of times that has been done over the decades. But surely they could at least do it on iView.
The 2020/21 W-League fixture was released yesterday. The ABC will show one regular season match per week on Sunday afternoons (usually 4pm AEDT) and all finals live. The first FTA match is the season opener on December 27 when Western Sydney Wanderers FC host Melbourne Victory at Bankwest Stadium, the first time the menâs and womenâs domestic seasons will start concurrently.

The preliminary final is on ABC on Saturday at 5:00pm, according to yourtv.
So Fox have got the same A-League style delay shit. Do they not realise that no-one watches it, and itâs not going to affect their ratings if the ABC show it live? Hopefully the Grand Final is live on ABC.
The grand final is definitely live on the ABC as posted above.
All WNBL finals are live on Fox Sports. Wednesdayâs semi-finals are live on channel 507 from 6pm AEDT.
The ABC do have live rights and are airing it on iview.
The fact that Fox are getting a govt grant to air this one would assume guarantees it is available to ABC where as Fox are paying the A league a significant sum thus the exclusive live coverage.
The ABC paid News Corpâs Foxtel up to $35,000 for each Matildas match aired by the taxpayer-funded broadcaster last financial year, prompting criticism that the pay-TV network was double-dipping into the public purse.
ABC paid Foxtel up to $105,000 to produce three matches featuring the national womenâs soccer team in 2019-20.

The dates for this yearâs W-League finals were announced today. The semi-finals will be held on April 4 and 5 and the grand final on Sunday, April 11. All finals will be shown live on ABC TV.
In the A-League, the Brisbane v Western United game was supposed to be played now (the âABC gameâ). But this game has been postponed due to poor pitch from the heavy rain during the week. So ABC has decided to air last nightâs match between Melbourne City and Western Sydney Wanderers.
The least ABC could have done is have a disclaimer that games have been swapped and/or changed.
Times have been added to the W-League Semi Finals (this long weekend):
Sunday: 4pm (Brisbane Roar v Melbourne Victory)
Monday: 3pm (Sydney FC V Canberra United)
Note: Games are live on both ABC and Fox Sports.
