This summer’s Women’s Australian Open golf has been cancelled due to COVID-19. The ABC has broadcast rights.
You mean the Women’s Australian Open in golf?
Time to bring this thread back from the dead and welcome back the WNBL to its rightful home!
Is it fox simulcast?
The article mentions Corbin Middlemass as a commentator, so possibly they’re using their own commentators. As they are in a hub, they wouldn’t need multiple camera teams.
The article mentions the ABC will simulcast one WNBL game at 5pm AEDT each Saturday. That timeslot is normally reserved for A-League matches, but the next A-League season is not due to start until after Christmas.
What happens though if the basketball goes into overtime?
Switch to Fox Sports
ABC sure as hell won’t be delaying ABC News or moving coverage to multichannels.
won’t be happening. It’ll all be done and dusted by December 20 - all within 6 weeks.

Or Kayo Same diff but you know.
ABC could easy move games to ABC2 or ABC3, or heck ABC News for a little bit. But you’re right, they won’t do it.
iView shouldn’t be an issue, just keep the game stream going, unless they’re taking it straight from the broadcast feed.
Is Shannon Byrne finishing up at the ABC or just changing roles?
Sounds like she’s finished up.
Yes, Shannon is leaving the ABC after 14 years.
What’s she doing next?
Maybe she will move back interstate? Shannon had worked at ABC headquarters in Sydney for several years.
Corbin Middlemas called this afternoon’s WNBL clash between Melbourne Boomers and Southside Flyers with former coach Lori Chizik, from Foxtel studio in Melbourne. The coverage uses graphics similar to those seen on Fox Sports News (well, the previous set anyway).
The Saturday and Sunday match of the day are available on iView to catch up.
It’s a straight simulcast with Fox Sports isn’t it?
It is, complete with ad breaks (ABC of course showing promos for its news service and upcoming shows).
Why don’t they ever do that? Show real commercial breaks
Because they’re not a commercial broadcaster.
The same as the ones Fox use.
No that’s SEN.
