BTW, welcome back from your well deserved holiday.
ViacomCBS merger put everything that CBS Ten was working towards on hold.
ANYWAY as we have seen Seven only got ARG rights as they were the only other bidder and they donât even want it as they have outsourced the production & transmission to SCM. Just on SCM noticed how they did the B12hr as a white label for Seven and Fox Sports? ⌠A-League on ABC should also be the same, a white label feed.
Ten didnât just go into hibernation when the CBS-Viacom merger was announced. The 10 Upfronts in October which were after the merger was announced in August proves they didnât.
I said working towards.
CBS Ten withdrew on December 5 2019.
Letâs try that again.
BRC has the 10 logo on the main straight ready for ARG to do their promotional video/media work, ARG has to superimpose the 10 logo with the 7 logo once Ten withdrew their offer.
Anyway that is the past and Seven have the telecast rights and subbed out the production and transmission to SCM which is why they were able to get the B12hr as a clean feed (telecaster netural) for both pay TV and FTA.
but that is another story.
ABC Radioâs Ned Hall is calling the match at Sydneyâs Bankwest Stadium with special comments from Lizzie Ralston who plays for Sydney FC in the W-League.
UPDATE: Australia drew 1-1 with China and finished on top of their group, and will face Vietnam in a two-leg playoff next month for a spot in Tokyo Olympics. The first leg will be held at Newcastle on Friday night, March 6. The match will be streamed live on iView across the country and broadcast on ABC (live in NSW, ACT, VIC and TAS, and delayed in SA, QLD, NT and WA).
That awkward moment when WA take over the twitter account.
Joel Peterson who has been filling the Grandstand role in Adelaide is finishing up this weekend. No mention yet of who will take over.
Joel is moving back to Victoria, not sure if he will continue at the ABC though.
Joel will be replaced in Adelaide by Aaron Bryans from ABC Perth.
This is part of a reshuffle at the ABC sports department in Adelaide and Perth, after Clint Thomas announced yesterday he was also finishing this weekend to start a new role with WA Sports Minister Mick Murray in March.

Football: Socceroos v Kuwait
Thursday 26 March 8.30pm AEDT
The Socceroos will take on Kuwait in their fifth match on the road to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 on Thursday, 26 March 2020, with Perthâs 20,000-capacity HBF Park the venue for the encounter.
Australia are currently in first place in Group B of Asian qualifying, Graham Arnoldâs side having won four matches from as many games throughout September, October, and November 2019.
The Socceroos have scored 16 goals and conceded just one in their opening four fixtures on the road to Qatar, and commenced their campaign with a 3-0 win over Kuwait in the Middle East last September.
The green and gold will be seeking to bring a full-strength team to Australiaâs west coast for the clash, knowing that a win would edge them closer to securing progression to the next phase of qualifying which kicks off in the second half of 2020.
Kick-off is at 6.00pm (AWST), 9.00pm (AEDT)
This match may be postponed due to the coronavirus outbreak.
UPDATE 10/3: postponement confirmed.
The second leg of Olympic womenâs football play-off between Australia and Vietnam will be shown on ABC ME next Wednesday (March 11) at 10pm. It will be live in NSW, ACT, VIC and TAS and delayed in other regions.
The Matildas thrashed Vietnam 5-0 in the first leg in Newcastle last night.

As the result of the revised deal between the FFA and Fox Sports announced tonight, the ABC will continue to broadcast one A-League and one Westfield W-League match per week through to the end of July 2021, along with FFA-controlled Socceroos and Westfield Matildas matches.
Does this mean that the ABC will return to the 5pm Saturday games for the A-League?
Iâm glad that the ABC (FTA) will have an A-League (and W-League) match. But the Saturday arvo game was getting pretty terrible tv ratings for the ABC. Itâs âsuccessorâ as such, Midsomer Murders which airs at 5.30pm has been rating well enough to crack the top 20 each week (for the night)
Probably yes.
