The editing was super clunky and he kept saying ‘the state’ instead of ‘Victoria’. I’d prefer a local newsreader doing the segment off camera (like Tamara regularly does) instead of a blow-in from Sydney.

It seems Paul Higgins was originally scheduled to fill in for Tamara but he was also unwell so Ben stepped in to present the bulletin.

I suspected Paul may have had covid given his absence on the 12th and the sudden insertion weather from Sydney. Under the updated rules, that along wouldn’t make Tamara a close contact under the guidelines but the ABC may have a tighter policy or just a coincidence, which given how much is floating around is likely.
