Ultimo need to replicate the Melbourne news desk for the NSW edition.
The awkward standing style desk should be scrapped or relegated to the News Channel/ national bulletins only.

It’s not just the set, ABC Melbourne has much, much higher production standards.
The lighting is better, they use more diverse camera angles and use the set to its full capability. They can’t even light the NSW set properly.

Probably helps that five programs come from the same studio - News Breakfast, ABC News Victoria, Offsiders, Insiders and The World.
Plus don’t forget, it’s also a newer studio.

Yeah definitely. Camera angles in Southbank are way better and the lighting, you can really tell the difference while watching the The World and other programs from Southbank.
Don’t forget the 11pm bulletin on News Channel, The World This Week and The Breakfast Couch
