It seems that NSW has also adopted (and IMO, far better implimented - probably a major advantage of having a more versitile set?) the new OTS graphics format that the ACT bulletin is now using, but only for Sports reports.
Of course being a weeknight (and from Melbourne which of course has been HD for about a year now), I can confirm that NSW viewers are also seeing Alan Kohler’s Finance reports in HD:
So yeah, it seems there has been another control room upgrade at Ultimo recently. Could be related to the new ABC News Channel set which is expected to launch soon? Who knows…

Bit of a snafu in Melbourne tonight during the weather when the closing pictures of the women’s cricket team celebrating their win with Katy Perry played on the screen behind Paul Higgins. Handled like a pro - including the wild panning at the end.

Oddly, the iView version ends after the Moomba story, sometimes they go back and fix up errors for iView.

A little sad that ABC Canberra want to use some new tricks in the toolbox, but have a very limited setup to do it with.

The problem with the standing set is that Roz Childs is routinely standing too far to one side and not centered and with no cam ops it’s not a quick fix.

I mean have any broadcasters created their station idents using a similar format to the NEWS 24 idents, e.g. the the world in blocks, flipping the blocks occasionally, displaying pictures onto the blocks, etc?
