Yep - in the past, the 7pm bulletin during industrial action was read by a state editor (likely came down to whichever state had enough staff do crew a bulletin).
I donât think so - when they stopped airing BBC bulletins overnight, it was around the same time the geo-restrictions were removed on the YouTube stream for the ABC News Channel, so if anything, was probably more with not risking breaching other contracts the BBC may have in different countries.
When theyâve taken BBC coverage for royal events, theyâve usually switched off the live stream.
Odd that theyâve gone with the BBC when DWâs feed doesnât essentially have any copyright on it. Methinks the BBC have either waved any limitations on the presumption that itâs a once off or theyâll cut out the YouTube stream
Foxtel hasnât carried BBC News in years though - itâs now FTA on BBC.com
Itâs still on Fetch.
Can you please explain about DW not having copyright?
Youâd think clicking it opens some of page explaining the situation, but nope it just refreshes the home page..
They had a very lax arrangement which meant that most networks could obtain their feed for free and with hardly any restrictions, hence why quite a few community stations had DW bulletins on their schedule
Is it true that BBC is running the ABC?
Not running - ABC just taking their feed while staff are on industrial action for 24 hours.
One of the commercial networks should take advantage of the absence of the 7pm ABC News tonight by running a special 7pm bulletin.
anybody who wants to watch a commercial bulletin will watch one.
Still quite a few stories being uploaded on ABC News online.
I was thinking more of older viewers who will tune in at 7pm for their nightly news, and may not know how to use the catch-up streaming services to watch 7, 9 or 10 News instead.
Must be the skeleton staff who wrote and posted the stories online.
That and/or usage of newswires. Either way, theyâre living up to their promise âfor the latest newsâ.
Potentially collated from other news sources using an AI algorithm?
