ABC News Content and Appearance

There seems to be some Skeleton crew on - or they’re scheduled releases. There’s also some Associated Press reports, so perhaps they have the ability to submit directly?

The people who choose to watch the ABC news aren’t going to be tempted by a brainless tabloid commercial bulletin. SBS should’ve done two 30 min bulletins.

Weird to show Australian story and not a BBC news simulcast.

I think it’d be even stranger to air BBC News at 7pm on the main channel?

Why? People are tuning in for the news at 7?

They tend to tune in specifically for their state bulletin at 7? The news channel is still carrying generic world news via the BBC.

Because some of the story choices could seem off.

For example, right now BBC is talking about newly released UK inflation figures. Now, I understand that they are UK-based so it’s normal to bring up UK news.

But that’s not everyone and there will be confusion as to why this makes news on the main channel’s flagship bulletin.

I personally would do an Euronews - report after report with only voiceovers and some supers. If there isn’t even enough staff for that, don’t do anything.

That would involve having staff.

As said above.

Wasn’t there when I read your post!

Why not put together a national bulletin at 10:30 am this morning. Many people would watch and appreciate that it may not be the latest news.

Because they’re striking. Why would they do extra work before the strike to cover something during the strike. Defeats the purpose of striking at all.

The news channel flipper has an item which states regular programming will resume from 12:30pm AEDT tomorrow.

Which is actually 1.30pm - 12.30pm is the NPCA which they will broadcast anyway.

Which means it’s regular programming.

From tonight’s 7pm.NSW bulletin. Haven’t seen this backdrop before. I hope those rusted on elderly viewers like yellow…

It’s normally used to signal a live event - at least according to NC - but somehow it’s for a live cross?

The yellow intensity really calms when capturing shots off of a screen instead of taking the direct feed.

Might be my TV’s setting, it didn’t look THAT bright to me as you capped it.

I seen it a couple of times, I remember seeing it before the Bondi Massacre.

It’s only really used during crosses in stand presentations, which isn’t very often.
