Is this not the same forum that whinges about how little local news is in the 7pm bulletin anyway?
It’s one night - ABC is the national broadcaster so has a wider role here than providing what is usually a dull, drawn out local bulletin on a Sunday as it is.
And they stuffed up the weather at the end by showing the state by state forecasts for today (ie Christmas Eve), the day that had already passed, instead of tomorrow (Christmas Day).
Something I never thought about while watching the 9AM Morning Bulletin on ABC TV is what happens in WA? Because in her intro Gemma Veness says “It’s 9AM eastern daylight, 6AM in the West” It triggered a question in my head.
Do they replay a bulletin that’s 3 hours old to WA at 9AM or do they broadcast the 12PM news as the 9AM news in WA?
Similarly what happens at 12PM WA time? I know that the ABC News Channel broadcasts live across Australia but what happens to the bulletins on the ABC TV channel?
That’s atrocious that they play 3 hour old news! They should just play the noon news at 9am and rebrand them all as ABC News and avoid references to the time of day.
Either that or they should broadcast the last hour of the morning block that aired at EDT and the last hour of the noon block that aired at EDT with the same hosts so that it’s only an hour behind. 3 hours just feels too late!
You can watch it live on 24 or catch up later on 20 if you missed it.
I find it good if there is actual news happening to watch the news live on 24, if it’s a slow news day then you can watch the usual Sydney car crashes or Melbourne house fires on delay as background noise
NSW 7pm news had a weather preview earlier in the bulletin and it was presented in front of the video wall next to the desk. Looked much better than the curved wall.
