Probably the same person who made the bizarre rule that they can’t cover more than 5 local stories.
It’s garbage. Has been for years. No real news at all really. Every time I decide to give them another go, I feel less and less informed.
Friday (September 5) will be a 35 minute bulletin at 7pm as it is the first Friday of the month.
NSW is getting the ACT bulletin tonight.
Why? Technical issues at Parramatta? Or was it scheduled?
All News Channel bulletins came from Melbourne and NewsRadio was broadcasting BBC World (which was not planned) ABC Radio Sydney didn’t have any local programming i think
NSW getting ACT tomorrow night as well.
They still had local programming, but done from Melbourne (Dom Knight also did the Friday drive program from Melbourne).
Electrical works
Shows up how dependent Parramatta and all its shiny mirrors, bells and whistles are very dependent on Ultimo. As Ultimo has planned UPS works this weekend, Parramatta is mostly dead in the water. There is no direct link to get TV Studio 91 output to MediaHub without going through Ultimo I am informed.
I don’t know about ‘planned’, but it was announced on-air Friday morning.
Yes, it was a slip-up. i meant to say it was planned.
How odd for NewsRadio not to be broadcasting. I thought it was weird when I put it on this morning.
Seriously, if it was planned, why couldn’t they organise broadcasts from another state with all the radio studios available? Just shows how horribly they treat newsradio. It’s like the poor cousin compared to the news channel. Same goes for the random night shcedules they have. I drive home from work around 6:30 and every night i couldn’t tell you if it was going to be Newsradio or the BBC. zero consistency.
An interesting new approach from ABC News. Instead of a wrap of the week in news they will warp the news. The Sky News prime time team will love this ![]()

no other broadcaster would do that as par for course, shows how local news is so irrelevant to the ABC.
Why go all the way to Melbourne? Isn’t there a regional NSW ABC radio station near Sydney that could do it?
Wollongong? Newcastle?
Technical limitations?
They really need to put a background picture for their scorecard graphics instead of a bland colour background - even if it was a generic picture of turf it would look 100% better
Yep, or at the very least put the quarter by quarter scores to fill the screen.
