ABC News Content and Appearance

ACT bulletin now has some nice local footage in the opener.

Was there any hint of “change” tonight? ie: newsroom crosses etc? Or is ABC News that light on local content? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Such a pity… Redbee’s version is so much more polished.

The news openers look very cheap for what should be the network’s most important product.

No crosses to the newsroom, and no hint’s or anything. Given the pics posted in the broadcast facilities thread, we do know that there is a new set in the TV studio, so they haven’t shipped the current set over (thank god).

However, you are right about them being light on local news. What’s the point of having two newsrooms in Sydney if you aren’t going to cover more than 2-3 local stories.

I wonder which bulletin will get localised images next? A couple of bulletins have gotten localised imagery since the relaunch so it must happen sooner or later to all of them

Looking forward to the ABC’s next internal review stating that their is massive disconnection between the newsroom and news studio and its clearly not working having both separated from one another.

What a waste of money this is.

This also made it to the Victorian bulletin. Bad bad bad. Not sure how it comes close to meeting their brand style/templates. Not hard to chuck in one of the shapes allegedly drawn from the logo and put a crop of the MCG in that.

Noticed the clocks reappeared a few days ago, and they started using the original headline super graphic with the blue boarder again. But back to the clock-less and basic headline straps tonight. Does anyone at the ABC check these things?

On another issue, Victoria seems to put out fewer Stateline reports than other states. Melbourne and Victoria deserve a better ABC than this.

What is this abomination lol

The location titles coupled with the headline super make it look too crowded and busy

Been long enough to call this whole change a disaster. It’s hard to read, at times confusing and just looks ugly and non-authoritative

Apt for ABC News under Justin Steven’s management!

it has been balls’d up on every aspect, I don’t think I have seen or heard anything desirable from the whole thing.
