Another ACT on-location Election special tonight:
Could it perhaps be launching for the Federal Election instead?
Are there even going to be local bulletins airing on Federal Election night?
Despite the use of the local backdrop I think the one we got prior to the coverage on NSW State Election night was presented as if it was a national bulletin (with national weather rather than state weather, etc.) from the News Channel set.
The one set on the ABC that should be updated over all, is the News Channel set. It’s in a terrible state and looks terrible on TV.

Wow! That looks pretty impressive.
Has a similar feel to Nine’s bulletin (with it being rounded).
Interesting to note that Juanita will be standing most of the bulletin.

I find it a bit pointless that this bulletin gets a shiny new set given its only used for 30 minutes (?).
News channel really should be top priority honestly.

Love the set, would be great if they do a few graphics tweaks in terms of city backgrounds but we’ll have to wait and see.

Looks great! Hopefully in a few weeks the news channel can move in while they update their studio.
The new ABC News NSW set looks pretty good judging by that preview (looks like one which would work better in HD than the old set too, although who knows whether or not we’ll get HD on Sunday night), but of course I’m still going to wait until we see it on-air before delivering my final verdict.
No doubt Graham Creed will be pretty happy about getting to present the weather from a lineless screen after using the videowall for five years and that dodgy green screen set up over the last few months!
Set looks fantastic.
Hopefully the extended install period means more dynamic cameras and presentation moving forward.

Looks fantastic, good to see Juanita have a bit of a laugh in that clip. Interesting that they’ve gone back to Windows though, thought they changed to Mac OS sometime in 2014.
Perhaps they’ll be expanding the use of this set? Also, news will have to go somewhere when their set eventually gets made.

I think it looks wonderful. But this is the set that the News Channel should have.

You’d have to imagine that every state/territory + the news channel will eventually get new sets.

Majority of them are fine though? ABC has a very stock standard shot list. I don’t see why every market needs a set like NSW.
I can see them doing a Nine and having a flash set and only half of it is used on air if they did.
Maybe ABC don’t plan to invest in the News Channel further…
