Are we sure they aren’t just going to stay in the newsroom?
Been thinking about this possible back end of the new news channel set. If this is the new set then there will be no back drop of the control room/gallery because the possible panel seen in the picture is in the way of it. This possibly rules out the control room/gallery background that is sometimes used in the new VIC set.
Or it could be in tracks and can be moved around? Who knows!
If so, I’d like to see a better desk.
Very Sky News UK.
Or ITV
Well I can now see why it has taken this long for the set to be completed.
I’m hoping the general design of it at least fits in with the Sydney and Melbourne sets. But judging by this glimpse it looks completely different.
Does anyone know if lightwell is still making backdrops and virtual sets because their website hasn’t been updated in a couple of years. If so they may have also created this design.
Yep. No original thought gets put into sets at Auntie. Just rip off something from the UK. Surprised it’s not BBC though!
Well there’s really only two choices, Euro or American design. Give me Euro design over OTT tacky American news design any day.
That’s not true at all. In Europe I’ve seen some really different designs that don’t fit euro clean or US OTT design.
Keen to see examples
Dozens In Spain. I was so impressed with their presentation and content. Never saw a Boring newscast. Everything in fast paced, massive sets, daring graphics and colors.
Each of the 5 or so big networks have countless news shows and debate shows that Ake seemingly non stop across the day and night.
Also saw a Lots in Switzerland, Turkey and Poland. But Spain was the real stand out.
Giving me RTL Hirado vibes from Hungary. I think there’s a difference between Northern Europe design and Eastern/Southern Europe design. Former’s brighter with parallel lines and curves and glass or flat elements, latter trends darker with more light and gloss and more intersectionality.
Lightwell designs is basically just an Englishman named Jim Mann, so I suspect he will have a general tendency towards brighter scenes.
The new Large Screen looks similar to the one in Melbourne. Possibly a similar setup perhaps.
Monday is new set launch day according to Karina Carvalho’s Insta story.
