The “NEWS” is too big and next to the logo just dwarfs it.
I think “NEWS” should be smaller and sit under the logo, like the iView logo below:

It does doesn’t it. Once it’s not squiashed it should look okay, I do like the red on breaking news, and not the old yellowish colour they had. Very sophisticated looking.

Hopefully the ticker is enlarged so there isn’t so much space in the coloured area.
I do see what they were trying to do with these graphics, but I don’t think it’s working. I hope for some mild tweaking.

While I think the clock could’ve been better designed, the rest of the new look is great IMO. Yes, the old look to ABC News (24) was great but after nearly seven years of service it was well and truly time for a change!
Maybe the font on the flipper could be increased at tad, but other than that I don’t really mind having a small flipper. I’d rather that than the ridiculously large supers that some of the other networks (especially those massive “Breaking News” banners from Seven and Nine) have been partaking in recently.
