Acronym ??

ABC TV?

Or you know… ABC

No, an acronym is an abbreviation that is pronounced as if it is a word (ie. NATO) whereas an initialism is an abbreviation where each letter is pronounced separately (ie. ABC TV)

ABC-TV is the main channel of the ABC which is short for Australian Broadcasting Corporation Television. NATO is short for North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.

That’s…not the point.

You mean you don’t call it Ahbcee TV?

A snippet of ABC’s 2013 NYE coverage…

ABC’s coverage will also be shown across Asia Pacific region on ABC Australia channel from 8.30pm AEDT tonight. In addition, the midnight fireworks will be streamed live on YouTube worldwide.

When does the streaming of the ABC NYE coverage start on YouTube? I will not be at home as I will be at someone’s house for dinner.

Looks like the 9pm fireworks are being delayed. The kids’ presenters just made the announcement.

LOL yeah, news.com.au will probably have their annual “Viewers slam the ABC’s pathetic New Years Eve coverage” article up by 10.30pm.

Absolutely pathetic “journalism” I know, but always good for a laugh! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I saw the comments on Facebook about the pissing in the mouth bit.

Bad move. Charlie was imploring the kids to stick around past 9pm for the family fireworks to swing around.
