She’s gone off to write a book. It was going to be a while that she’s away… possibly 6 months but certainly a while.
Too long. Hill is a channel changer for me.
Katrina Palmer is senior producer of Virginia Trioli mornings on ABC Melbourne.
The man is a dinosaur. He needs to retire.
ABC Radio Adelaide this morning said that there would be a technology change tonight affecting DAB+ and that receivers may need a rescan.
I can’t find any other information about this though unless someone knows if there was information released about it online.
It was discussed in the Digital Radio technical area
Nice sign out the front, with some minor graffiti.
That’s mild by Alice Springs graffiti efforts.
Another ABC local tablecloth.
With river 94.9 advertisements in the background lol
Can’t believe he’s finally going to retire.
According to The Australian, the ABC has finally revealed that users of its ABC Listen app will not need to set up a login to listen to their radio services from July, even though people will need to set up an account to access TV shows on iView.
I doubt they’d need to mandate it, a fair chunk of users of the app probably have iview anyways, so one will be doing the heavy lifting of the other.
To download the iView app for Android and Apple mobile phones and tablets you need an account for the Play Store or App Store which requires you to have an email address. When setting up Windows on a laptop or PC you generally need a Microsoft account which needs an email address (there is a way of setting up without the account but it is a specific cumbersome workaround).
So if you have a smart mobile phone, tablet or computer you will generally have an email address.
Or your kids will. It’s not that bad.
It’s this “old people can’t do it” mentality is what means we have technology that is behind the times. Old people can’t use technology, move on.
Do we Logan’s Run them, or Soylent Green them?
hmmm … properly researched facts anyone?
Everyone I know in their seventies and eighties has a smartphone, actively use Facebook, watch Netflix and use Messenger for calls and messages; and last year they all used Zoom. It’s Bridget McKenzie who is out of touch.
Guys I was making a generalisation. My point still stands: if we just keep saying “old people can’t use technology so we can’t update/upgrade anything” then we will be stuck with old technology. We need to push forward, like the ABC have done with the logins to iview. If people fall behind, then so be it.
