Lattouf’s Federal Court hearing was mentioned on Media Watch tonight.

Ita in court today

She really didn’t come across well in those emails. I’m surprised she was stupid enough to put that stuff in an email to be honest. My rule is never put anything in a corporate email you wouldn’t be happy for the whole world to read. Although I’ve always found her pretty arrogant to be honest, and probably thinks she’s above the rules. I don’t really support the case against the ABC though, Lattouf is a very bad actor.

She’s in the wheelchair now?

ABC Statement – Federal Court proceedings

The ABC is currently defending proceedings in the Federal Court brought by Ms Antoinette Lattouf.

As part of the proceedings, a proposition was made in the ABC’s legal submission relating to race and matters that needed to be established by Ms Lattouf in her case against the ABC. This proposition was intended to state the legal elements that must be established, it was not to make a statement about any aspect of Ms Lattouf’s race.

The ABC recognises that, regrettably, this legal argument has caused distress in some sections of the community and our workforce. This was not the ABC’s intention.

Today, the ABC made clear to the Court that it does not dispute or contest Ms Lattouf’s race or national extraction being Lebanese, Middle Eastern or Arab.

The ABC does, however, deny that any action was taken against Ms Lattouf because of her political opinion, race or national extraction.

The ABC is unable to make further comment while proceedings continue.

As a result of back surgery

Remember when Clive Palmer pretended to be on death’s door during a trial?

A mystery at the heart of this week’s biggest media story is who leaked the story about Antoinette Lattouf’s sacking from the ABC to The Australian?

The Oz had the story live on its site before Lattouf made it home on the day she was let go, she told the court, and the court also heard that there were a number of details in the story that could only have been known by a small number of senior people at the broadcaster.

Several of the witnesses, including Buttrose, were asked explicitly if they were the source of the leak or knew who had been. All denied it.

tbh, I wouldn’t put it past Lattouf’s mates to have done it… after all, why would a leftist leak to a Murdoch rag?

The ABC has received 21 complaints over an interview with Anthony Albanese in Alice Springs where the Prime Minister was grilled about his dwindling popularity.

Mr Albanese was interviewed by ABC Alice Springs Breakfast host Stewart Brash in a 25-minute segment on February 7.

During the heated exchanges, the Prime Minister claimed the host was “verballing” him.

The interview can be heard as part of the podcast.

I’ll save you all a click, it’s a Sky News video.

And they’re pissed it’s only 21 complaints.

Thursday Feburary 20

Conversations is not airing in SA this morning, with mornings extended to cover the announcement of an industry support package for the Whyalla Steelworks

Spence Denny will be presenting SA and NT’s evenings show from Whyalla tonight following the announcement of the Steelworks being forced into administration.

I was never a Buttrose fan, personally. She always seemed an odd pick for the ABC.

(I’m not challenging the validity or accuracy of her legal assertions, to be clear)

Dave O’Neil will be hosting ABC Radio Melbourne breakfast next week.

Why? It’s not holidays already is it?

The only perfect pick would be Kerry O’Brien.
