YES! Bring back Santo, Sam and Ed! Bloody well do it!

No other news source other than opinion piece above is rating that the production will be fully controlled by APL. They may be doing the pictures and graphics and commentary be done by the broadcast. Surely 10/paramount+ will have greater involvement than just being a relay station.

I was hoping 10 would be doing graphics and commentary

Successive Governments have shown little interest in updating the many laws we have to bring them into the 21st century.

Yes it does but the topic is wrong as my maths are that it ends a little too late.

NRL rights for FTA component have started negotiations, in which it expires at the end of 2022 season.

My commentators would be the likes of Amy Duggan, Natalie Yoannidis, Stephanie Brantz and Craig Foster.

Sadly no. He’s an activist now.

Statement from Foxtel Group CEO Patrick Delany to TV Blackbox

We have enjoyed a 16-year relationship with Australian football, starting as the inaugural broadcast partner for the A-League in August 2005 supporting the game through its highs with international marquee players in 2013 and its more recent challenges completing the 2020 COVID-interrupted season.

While we would have preferred to retain the A-League and W-League, we chose early on in the process to maintain our cost and valuation discipline in relation to these rights.

As the Australian Professional Leagues look toward a new future, we thank them for their partnership. We have been incredibly pleased to bring the A-League and the W-League to the many fans of football in Australia. We wish the APL well and for football fans, we remain the go-to destination those who love the best in European football league action including Italy’s Serie A, Germany’s Bundesliga and Spain’s La Liga.

Grant Denyer to be the Sideline Commentator…

Apart from Mel (even then, she would be quite good at reporting), I reckon the list is pretty good. They should also go after Adam Peacock who’s one of the most well-known faces in the business and maybe even Lucy Zelic.

Here is the latest about international games. Whether it becomes true remains to be seen.

Could we see Gordon Bray commentating soccer?

The bolded aspect has been confirmed in an article on the A-League website - quoting from it:

APL will from next season produce its own “product” – that’s the A-League and Westfield W-League games, plus myriad features and news around them - and package it appropriately, in readiness for distribution via the commercial stature of the Ten Network and on Australia’s newest streaming channel. Before the start of the new season, some of that content will also be central to a new digital platform that APL promises will become the Australian home of football content.

So like the NBL or the Premier League?

Considering Williams is a US reporter, guessing what he’s reporting will probably relate to the US version of Paramount+ only
