Completely agree, couldn’t Nine just pre-record a normal edition of A Current Affair for states not affected by the floods?
Surely the current flooding situations in both NSW & Queensland are significant enough news stories for A Current Affair to run special coverage of across the nation? No doubt there’d be people here complaining if ACA opted not to do special coverage of a major flooding event affecting Victoria!
It’s the sort of story that ACA thrives on - suffering, bad luck, the downtrodden (I could go on). The normal content of the show would have been pretty much the same and probably of less relevance and interest. It was possibly (just guessing) one of their best for a while.
It’s a major national story covered from a human interest perspective. As TV.Cynic points out its ACA’s bread and butter. The 2010-11 Queensland floods got similar attention. The first fifteen minutes of 7.30 has also been devoted to the floods. They’re now covering the Parliament House scandal story.
Yeah but who needs to hear about Toowoomba when the neighbour from hell is terrorising Melton?
ACA has for a long time covered natural disasters and major accidents across Australia. Just one example:
Oh for Christ sake. aCa ShoulDn’T cOvEr MaJoR fLoOdInG
I’m not a fan of the blatant Sydney centrism of “national” media either but ACA always does this for big natural disasters, it’s no big deal.
Melbourne residents are missing out on the latest supermarket wars and instead are being bored with coverage of a natural disaster.
ACA is always on location during natural disasters in Australia. Former Rival TT (on the East Coast) does the same thing.
Why is everyone complaining about the coverage of ACA? They got 800,000+ metro viewers on Monday and 750,000+ metro on Tuesday. They would be happy with the results.
Nice of Tracy to bring a disco ball in to lighten the mood
Lord above.
We got a preview of Tracy’s interview with the PM in Canberra on the Afternoon News, wow Tracy is asking the right questions!
It will be good to watch Tracy in action tonight.
This sort of interview is why ACA can claim that Tracy is Australia’s best interviewer. She isn’t rude, but she asks the questions and is firm enough to get the big answers. Her interview with Pauline Hanson in the wake of the NRA scandal comes to mind.
Her interviews with MAFS contestants are world renowned.
She does this twice a year, if she’s so good why don’t they do it more? Seems like a waste of talent…
